'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Zombies Ancient Evil Easter Egg Guide & Walkthrough
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Ancient Evil has made its way to Zombies, and that means it's time to solve another Easter egg quest. In this guide, we'll walk you through the complex steps required to trigger the final cutscene. From Shield parts to Wonder Weapons, here's everything you need to know.
To get started, make sure you have a solid understanding of the map, as well as access to Pack-a-Punch and Pegasus. Those who need help with that can use our guide.
Pegasus Strike
Pegasus Strike is mandatory at the very end of the Easter egg quest. Getting it requires finding the Hammer, Anvil and Prongs, each of which can be found in a specific location.
The Prongs may be in this corridor in the River of Sorrow.

Or down the slope near the fire pit by Odin.

Or near the wallbuy on this rock.

The Hammer can be found near these bones in Python Pass.

Or close by on this torch.

Or by the Eagle cage location from the Pack-a-Punch process near the Titan wallbuy.

The Anvil can be found to the left of the big snake in Cliff Ruins.

In this area to the right.

Or next to this pillar.

Craft the parts together at the bench in the Cliff Ruins. The item will be in your inventory and in the Mystery Box for other players.

Building the Shield
The next step is to find all three parts of the Shield called Apollo's Will. It has special abilities you'll need to use to get to the next step.
Part 1 - The Shield: You should have gotten it when defeating one of those multi-arm bosses before unlocking Pack-a-Punch.
Part 2: Spawns in the Intersection of Treasuries by this flower bed.

Or a short walk away near the statue by the wagon.

Or at the Stoa of the Athenians by this red pillar.

Part 3: All spawns are in Upper Road. The first may be on the railing of this bridge.

On this rock under the bridge.

Or on this rock by the small set of stairs.

Once you have all three parts, you can craft Apollo's Will at the bench in the Marketplace.

Getting the Gauntlets
In order to finish this Easter egg, you must collect and fully upgrade the four Gauntlet Wonder Weapons to their redeemed forms. You can technically do this at any time you like, but it might help to get everything out of the way early.
The first order of business is to obtain four Dormant Hands by meleeing specific areas that have a purple glow to them. For this, there are at least 20 possible spawn locations, with only four active ones on the map. We've listed all the options below, but the above clip from Glitch may also be helpful.
- At the huge red crystal in the Intersection of Treasuries.
- From there, go down the nearby staircase. There may be a glow on the ground at the bottom near the flower garden.
- In the Stoa of the Athenians next to a pot and golden boat.
- Near the fountain at the previous location next to a shield.
- Near a column just as you enter the Spartan Monument from the Stoa.
- Further down the monument area, you'll see the leg of a fallen statue. A Dormant Hand may be there.
- On the ground by the Zeus perk where Pegasus spawns.
- Nearby up the small flight of stairs by the bull statue.
- Back at the Intersection of Treasuries by the giant arrow.
Ride Pegasus to these areas:
- At the bottom of the prominent staircase in River of Sorrow.
- Near the Odin perk to the left of the river.
- In the Cliff Ruins by the huge water wheel.
- On the table near the water wheel.
- To the left of the Eagle cage in the Cliff Ruins.
- On the right of the broken bridge leading to the Center of the World.
- In a mud pile to the left of the Ouranos altar in the Center of the World.
- Just up the ramp to the fast travel point that opens after Pack-a-Punch.
- In a Chaos crystal at Python Pass.
- In a Chaos crystal by the Titan machine and hanging Eagle cage.
- To the left of the Charon altar before entering the River of Sorrows.
If you're having trouble with this step, make sure you see the Oracle at the spawn point. She'll offer hints about where the Dormant Hands can be found.
The Redeemed Hand of Charon
To get the Redeemed Hand of Charon Wonder Weapon, you must upgrade the Dormant Hand to the Fallen Hand of Charon, then upgrade it again to its final form. We'll walk you through the basic steps.
Once you have the Dormant Hand, ride Pegasus to Pack-a-Punch. Take a right down to Python Pass and you'll find this Charon Altar.

When you do this, a lockdown phase will trigger. Kill about 10 red Zombies to get out, and you'll get the Fallen Hand of Charon as a reward. To upgrade it further, all you have to do is get kills with the weapon in the River of Sorrow. This turns the river red, and eventually you'll be prompted to "hold to drink from the river." Do so.
Your vision will change. The next step requires collecting three coins in nearby areas. There are lots of fakes, but the real ones will trigger a "Hold to obtain Charon's Obol" prompt. They also make a sound when picked up. If you die at this point, you'll have to drink from the river and start again. If you're successful, bring three coins to the altar to spawn a red portal. Enter it, and use the Redeemed Hand of Charon to kill a wave of Zombies. If you manage to endure, the Redeemed Hand is yours.

The Redeemed Hand of Gaia
Start by getting the Fallen Hand of Gaia at the bottom of Spartan Monument. You'll encounter another lockdown, just like the previous one. Survive, and now you must take the gauntlet to three specific bushes around the map.

The first bush is by this knight statue in the Intersection of Treasuries. Just ahead from that you'll see three crystals you must shoot with the weapon. Doing that gets you a plant which you must return to the shrine.

Do this again for the second bush next to this building in the Intersection of Treasuries.

One last time near the shrine in the Temple Terrace area.

Finish the lockdown to get the Redeemed Hand of Gaia.
The Redeemed Hand of Hemera
Bring a Dormant Hand to the Hemera Shrine at the Monument of Craterus. Finish the lockdown just like the previous two. You'll earn the Fallen Hand of Hemera.

Now you must use the Gauntlet to shoot three mirrors around the map. But there's a trick to it. You must first shoot the mirrors with a regular weapon to orient them so a charge shot lands in a nearby cup. Then you must grab the charge from the cup by meleeing it and take it back to the collection of cups near the shrine. We've done our best to illustrate how the mirrors should be oriented in each screenshot.
A mirror at the Temple Terrace.

A second mirror in Upper Road.

Another mirror in the Gym Bathhouse.

Just like the others, go through the portal and complete the challenge.
The Redeemed Hand of Ouranos
Grab your fourth Dormant Hand and take it to the Ouranos shrine in the Center of the World. Finish the lockdown to get the Fallen Hand of Ouranos.

To upgrade it to the Redeemed version, we need to force Zombies into arrows at different spots on the map. You can see this huge arrow near Pack-a-Punch. Just shoot a Zombie with a charged shot and it'll blast into the air. You want it to land on the arrow to make a feather appear. Shoot the feather with the weapon. Repeat this process for the other two arrows.

Another arrow at Python Pass.

The third arrow in the Cliff Ruins.

Now, just go back to the shrine and finish the fockdown to get the Redeemed Hand of Ouranos.
Oracle Tributes
With all the prereqs out of the way, let's get to the main Easter egg quest steps. Your first task is to complete about six Oracle tributes that can be accepted at spawn.
And at this tribute spot in the Cliff Ruins.

The tributes you undertake use up points, and doing several in a row unlocks valuable rewards of Common, Rare, Legendary and Epic tiers. Stack your tributes before turning them in to get the best rewards. As you complete these tasks, the fire in front of the Temple of Apollo statue will grow. When it turns blue and starts swirling, you've done enough.

Melee the flame with your shield to set it on fire. Now, don't change your weapon and sprint as quickly as possible to this patch of oil in the Intersection of Treasuries.

Melee another oil spot in the Spartan Monument with the fire spear.

And do the same with the third spot in the Upper Road.

Next, go to this area in the Spartan Monument with a bunch of statues. Take out your Redeemed Hand of Charon and fire a charged blood shot at the floor while standing in the stain. Your screen will blur. Shoot the statue that has blue, glowing eyes. The statue will crumble. Rinse and repeat the process a few times while avoiding the skeletons in the area. When it's done, the screen will shake violently.

Repairing Broken Walls and Cogs
The next step requires that you throw your spear at three specific spots with broken walls. The first one is here in the Spartan Monument area. The wall will break, revealing a cog underneath. You need to throw your spear at the smaller of the two cogs once it touches the big one. That will stop the small cog from turning, allowing the the big one to move.

Do the same at this spot in the Intersection of Treasuries.

And another one close by.

Head to the Statue of Athenians area, and you'll notice the statues are now rotating next to a big cog. Shoot the cog with your spear when all the statues are looking at the crystal like they are in this picture.

Shooting Vines
This step uses the Redeemed Hand of Gaia gauntlet. Go to the Offering of the Attalids area by the Danu perk and shoot the vine outside the map as shown.

This will make two vines appear here. Shoot them like so to split them.

Then three vines will spawn in. Shoot them from here.

This process must be done quickly, or you'll have to start over. If done right, a multi-armed boss should spawn in.
Lure it to this spot at the Intersection of Treasuries. Entice the giant to shield blast the crystal as seen in this picture. If you accidentally kill this multi-arm boss, just bring another one here. The giant will drop a gold rod.

Take the piece from the top of the crystal and place it in the hand of the Ra statue. It'll open its other hand. Next, give it your Gauntlet of Hemera.

This shoots a beam across the room and spawns lots of skeletons. Do your best to keep the beam going for about 45 seconds until a symbol appears. Interact with it to reveal the Sceptre of Ra. Give it back to the Ra statue.

Sundial Puzzle
Next, take the gold rod you got from the mini-boss and place it in the sundial near the Danu perk. A bunch of electric zombies will spawn, and you need to kill them on the dial to charge it.

A small window on the dial will reveal a series of orange symbols with one blue one. You can interact with the window. The aim of this puzzle is to ensure the blue symbol doesn't show when you close the window. Instead, you want to make sure it ends up where the dial's light beam is. You essentially need to count one by one and watch the rotation to correctly predict when the blue symbol will hit the beam.

If done right, a window will open under the beam, like so. Repeat the process two more times for the inner dials.

Take out your Gauntlets and head to the Amphitheater. Stand on the colored symbol that corresponds to the gauntlet you're using. The screen will go white and trigger a mini-game. To win, the player with the correct colored gauntlet must run to the circle, then kill all the Zombies that correspond to that color.

The River of Sorrow Door
Next, go to this door in the River of Sorrow by the Spitefire wallbuy with a Pack-a-Punched weapon. Shoot the symbols in this order:
- The one that looks like 14.
- The O with a line through the middle.
- The one that looks like a lowercase A.
- The O without the line in the middle.
- The group of three small circles arranged in a pyramid shape.
- The upside-down triangle.
At this point, a cutscene will play and you'll be brought back out to the River of Sorrow. Go to this marked spot and use a Pegasus Strike on top of the symbol. He'll arrive in front of the Odin perk and will make a crossbow appear.

Next, use the Redeemed Hand of Ouranos and fire charged shots at it to turn it. Keep turning till it's pointed at the woman behind the Pack-a-Punch machine. In about four or five clicks, it will lock into place.
Now, go all the way back to the Temple of Apollo and ignite the shield again. You need to run through the Venom Trap at Python Pass with that spear to turn it green. Bring it back to the crossbow and melee it from the back to fire it. That's the last step before the boss fight.

Boss Fight
When you're ready, go to the large flaming egg in the Center of the Word and interact.

The boss has two stages: Pegasus and the Zombie Warlord. For Pegasus, simply wait till he's over an island you're standing on and shoot him down. He will glow orange, which means he can be damaged with a Specialist weapon. Once he starts to rise up again, leave the island you're on. Eventually an island will be totally destroyed, Pegasus will fight the Zombie Warlord and he'll lose.
The Warlord will throw a couple spears, summon some giants and cast a spell that teleports it into the arena. Spam it with Gauntlets and launchers till the boss crouches and succumbs to your fire. Concentrate on its shoulder and torso to do the most damage. Eventually he'll drop a key, and that means you've won. That's all you need to know about the Ancient Evil Easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
