Bob Saget Death Detectives Find No Signs of Drug Use, Foul Play

Drug use and foul play are not believed to be factors in the death of Bob Saget, detectives have said.

The beloved comedian and former star of Full House was found unresponsive in an Orlando hotel room on Sunday and pronounced dead at the age of 65.

The Orange County sheriff's office confirmed Saget's death on Twitter on Monday after he was found in the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida on Sunday.

"Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room," a statement from the sheriff's office reads.

"The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case. #BobSaget."

A cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

The comedian had recently started a standup tour and had performed a show in Jacksonville in the state on Saturday night.

Saget's death has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry and beyond as a host of celebrities pay tribute to the man who was known for playing "America's dad" in the much-loved 80s sitcom Full House.

"I know that people lose loved ones, good people, every day. No one gets a pass. But the loss of Bob Saget hits deep," tweeted Jason Alexander of Seinfeld fame.

"If you didn't know him, he was kind and dear and cared about people deeply. He was the definition of "a good egg". Too soon he leaves. #RipBobSaget."

Saget's Full House co-star John Stamos said he is "broken" and "gutted" at the loss of his friend.

"I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby," he tweeted.

Jim Carrey also shared a moving tribute to his friend, writing: "Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness' sake."

Billy Crystal also expressed his shock at the loss of the actor.

"I'm shocked and saddened to learn that Bob Saget is gone," he tweeted. "A great friend and one of the funniest and sweetest people I have ever known. My love to his beautiful family."

Kat Dennings, who starred alongside Saget in the sitcom Raising Dad in the early 2000s, also spoke of her time working with the late actor.

"I just can't believe it. What a wonderful guy. He always went out of his way to make me comfortable and talked nonstop about his kids. Such a loss," she wrote.

Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three adult children.
