Bob Saget Was 'Loving Every Moment' of Comedy Return, His Final Post Said
Bob Saget wrote about "loving every moment" of returning to performing stand-up comedy in his final Instagram post, shared shortly before he passed away.
The beloved comedian, 65, was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several hours before he was found, the Full House star took to Instagram to post a selfie geotagged to Jacksonville, Florida's Ponte Vedra Concert Hall as he wrote about his show at the venue on Saturday night.
"Okay, I loved tonight's show @pontevedra_concerthall in Jacksonville," he wrote. "Really nice audience. Lots of positivity. Happened last night in Orlando last night at the Hard Rock Live too. Very appreciative and fun audiences."
Thanking fellow comedian Tim Wilkins for opening on the night, he continued: "I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I'm back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I'm finding my new voice and loving every moment of it."
He then promoted his upcoming shows that had been scheduled to take place in West Palm Beach, Florida at the end of January, before directing fans to his website for further dates in 2022.
Concluding his post—which received more than 400,000 likes in less than 24 hours—he wrote: "Goin' everywhere until I get the special shot. And then probably keep going cause I'm addicted to this s***. Peace out."
His sudden death was confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, who stated that detectives had found "no signs of foul play or drug use."
The office tweeted: "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."
As news of Saget's death circulated, a host of his co-stars, friends and fellow celebrities took to social media to express their sadness and pay tribute.
Full House and Fuller House co-star and longtime friend John Stamos wrote on Twitter: "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."
Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, whom he wed in 2018, and his daughters—Lara, Aubrey and Jennifer—from his first marriage to Sherri Kramer.
"We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away," read a statement from the star's family. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."
The statement concluded: "Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world."
