Bob Saget Pondered the Afterlife Days Before Death

Bob Saget pondered the afterlife as he paid tribute to Betty White in a poignant Instagram post shared just days before his own sudden death.

Full House star Saget, 65, passed away in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, several hours after his stand-up comedy show in Jacksonville.

And days before his own tragic death, Saget mourned the passing of beloved Golden Girls star White, following her December 31 death aged 99.

Posting a photo of the screen star, Saget envisioned White being reunited in the afterlife with her husband, Allen Ludden, who died in 1981.

Saget wrote of White: "She always said the love of her life was her husband, Allen Ludden, who she lost in 1981. Well, if things work out by Betty's design— in the afterlife, they are reunited.

"I don't know what happens when we die, but if Betty says you get to be with the love of your life, then I happily defer to Betty on this."

Elsewhere in his touching tribute to White, Philadelphia-born Saget wrote in part: "This amazing woman was exactly who you wanted her to be... Razor sharp wit, smart, kind, hilarious, sincere, and so full of love.

"From the first time I snuck into The Mary Tyler Moore Show at 15 years old and watched her hit everything she said out of the park, to decades later, getting to hang out with her on several occasions, I had a small peek into what a remarkable talent and human being Betty was."

"My deepest condolences to her family and friends," he concluded his post. "Betty White. My God we will miss you."

Saget's death was confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, who added in a statement shared on Twitter that there were "no signs of foul play or drug use."

The statement read: "Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room.

"The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

As news of his death broke, Saget's "devastated" family urged his fans to remember "the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world."

"We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away," read the family statement. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."

"Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world," the statement concluded.

Saget leaves behind his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters—Lara, Aubrey and Jennifer—from his first marriage to Sherri Kramer.
