Boogie 2988, Jeff Wittek and Other YouTubers Joke About Platform Going Down

YouTubers are joking about the video streaming platform being down as thousands of viewers complain about not being able to watch any videos.

There were more than 200,000 reports of YouTube being down late on Tuesday night, according to DownDetector, with more than 95 percent of the problems relating to watching videos.

Users reported seeing an Error 429 message or: "This video isn't available at the selected quality. Try again later." For some, YouTube was not loading at all.

Viewers took to Twitter to share memes and jokes about the platform not working, and popular YouTubers including Boogie 2988 and Jeff Wittek, joined in the fun too, entertaining their fans while their videos were inaccessible.

Around an hour after YouTube users began reporting issues, YouTube said on Twitter: "We're seeing reports around difficulties accessing YouTube services within the last hour. We can confirm that this is now fixed and you should be able to access our service without any issues.

"Thanks for your reports and do let us know if you're still facing any problems!"

It seems as though YouTube was facing problems earlier in the evening too, as a few hours previously, it said: "If you were having issues uploading or watching videos on YouTube (including live streams) in the last ~45 mins – this issue has been fixed.

"Note: if your video is processing, it should complete now – otherwise you may need to reupload. Thanks for all of your reports!"

In the meantime, viewers were busy searching for answers, and the most popular searches for YouTube in the past day in the U.S. include: "YouTube 429," "is YouTube down right now," and "YouTuber server status."

Others searched for "why is YouTube not working," and "YouTube problems today."
