Three explosions rocked the world of football on Tuesday night, as the Borussia Dortmund team bus was damaged on the way to Signal Iduna Park for a UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against AS Monaco.
Dortmund defender Marc Bartra suffered a broken arm after blasts hit the bus in two separate locations. Dortmund police are calling the incident a "targeted attack" on the team, while the first leg against Monaco was rescheduled by UEFA, European football's governing body, for Wednesday evening at 6.45 p.m. C.E.T.
Police are now investigating a letter left at the scene referring to the Berlin Christmas Market attacks of December 2016 and Western military involvement in Syria, according to the BBC.
