For people grieving the loss of a loved one, a moment of reconnection to their memory can mean everything.

This was especially true for Shannon Hamblin, 28, whose TikTok video (@shannonaubrie) has gone viral after revealing the "sign" she received from her late mother while wedding-shopping. Hamblin spoke to Newsweek about finding a bracelet in an antique shop with her mother's name on it while shopping for "something old". Since the video was posted, it has received 2.7 million views.

"I went to my favorite antique mall a few days ago to look for my 'something old' for my wedding this fall," she captioned the video. "This beautiful bracelet caught my eye...the name 'Diane' was engraved, which was my mom's name."

Hamblin wrote that she had been "begging" her late mother for a sign after struggling with her loss. The pearl bracelet with the engraving fit her like a glove and was the only engraved piece of jewelry on the table.

"When I first saw the bracelet, I only noticed the pearl strands, which is what I was looking for. But when I took a closer look, I noticed something was engraved... my jaw dropped," she told Newsweek. "I looked at my friend Lindsay, showed it to her, and her jaw did the same. She ended up buying the bracelet for me as a gift."

The coincidences don't stop there, though. The antique mall Hamblin was shopping in was a place she would frequent on the anniversary of her mother's passing.

"She owned her own interior design business and loved antiquing and finding ways to give items a second chance at being loved and a staple in a home," Hamblin explained. "I truly can't think of a better sign from her, or a better place to have found one."

'She's still here with me'

As Hamblin has been preparing for her wedding this October, she has felt the absence of her mom particularly keenly.

"I've been having a really tough time lately going through this phase of life without my mom here and I don't have many close female family members," she said. "I've been asking over the last few weeks for her to show me some kind of sign. To me, this sign signified she's still here with me and will be a part of my special day."

Hamblin is anticipating her upcoming bridal shower and her wedding dress, which she is picking up next week. The message she believes to be from her mother, she said, reminds her that she's "not alone."

Despite the grief she is holding in this season of her life, Hamblin is excited about her wedding to her fiancé—someone she said her mom would have absolutely loved.
