Get your corsets tightened and your fans at the ready—Bridgerton is back. Netflix has officially confirmed that season 4 of the hit Regency-era romance will arrive in early 2026, and this time, the spotlight is on the dreamy artist of the family, Benedict Bridgerton.

The new season will debut in two parts: Part 1 premieres on January 29, 2026, followed by Part 2 on February 26, 2026.

The New Love Story

After the passionate love stories of Daphne, Anthony, and Colin, it’s finally Benedict’s turn to find his match. Played by Luke Thompson, Benedict meets his mysterious love interest, Sophie Baek—portrayed by Australian-Korean actress Yerin Ha—at one of Lady Bridgerton’s famous masquerade balls.

The twist? Sophie isn’t the glittering “Lady in Silver” Benedict thinks she is. She’s actually a resourceful maid working under the formidable Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung). As Benedict tries to uncover the true identity of the woman who’s captured his heart, he’s caught between fantasy and reality—unaware that both women are, in fact, one and the same.

Inspired by Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, this season is described as Bridgerton’s take on Cinderella, full of disguises, misunderstandings, and forbidden romance. Thompson has called the scripts “dynamite,” adding, “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”

The New Faces of the Ton

Alongside returning fan favorites—including Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley as Anthony and Kate Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Bridgerton, and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte—several new characters will debut this season.

Katie Leung (Harry Potter) joins as Lady Araminta Gun, a sharp-tongued widow determined to see her daughters married off to the most eligible bachelors of Mayfair. Her daughters, Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), couldn’t be more different—Rosamund is her mother’s perfect protégé, while Posy is sweet, talkative, and often underestimated.

Showrunner Jess Brownell teased that while Rosamund and her mother see marriage as a game to win, Benedict “proves to be quite the catch this season.” Expect tension, charm, and the kind of romantic rivalry that Bridgerton fans live for.

Returning to the Ballrooms of Mayfair

The series continues to dazzle with elaborate costumes and decadent settings, filmed at the newly expanded Bridgerton backlot at Shepperton Studios near London. The new sets recreate Georgian architecture, including Benedict’s countryside retreat, known as My Cottage, and the lavish masquerade ball where his story begins.

Familiar faces like Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), and Polly Walker (Portia Featherington) will also return, ensuring plenty of gossip, scandal, and Whistledown-worthy moments.

A Tale of Magic, Masks, and Misunderstandings

For Yerin Ha, Sophie’s story resonated immediately. She told Netflix's Tudum website: "What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”

Thompson and Ha spent months building their on-screen chemistry, including through dance training and intimate rehearsals that mirror the push-and-pull dynamic of their characters’ relationship.

Thompson added: “What’s striking about Season 4, s that it’s the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world."

Fans React to the News

Following Netflix’s announcement, fans flooded social media with excitement:

“Looks like Season 4 is taking cues from Season 1—the main poster even matches the new book cover! Peep how it’s now ‘Benedict & Sophie’s story,’” one fan wrote on Threads.

“Omg we finally have a release date for Bridgerton Season 4! This is not a drill,” said another.

“If Season 4 is Benedict’s story, that means he might not lead any future seasons,” one fan lamented.

“With the announcement of Bridgerton Season 4, I feel like I need to start a rewatch—for the 10 millionth time,” another joked.

What’s Next for Bridgerton?

Season 4 will feature eight episodes, written and produced by Jess Brownell alongside Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes and long-time producers Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.

Filming wrapped earlier this year, and from the early glimpses, fans can expect a season filled with lush ballrooms, unmasking secrets, and the sweeping romance that has made Bridgerton a global sensation.

So mark your calendars, dear readers—Bridgerton returns on January 29, 2026, with its second act following on February 26, 2026.

Whether you’re tuning in for the romance, the gowns, or the gossip, the ton will be ready.
