An English bulldog found the most adorable way to disrupt his owner's efforts to work productively from home.
The way in which we work has changed for millions of people in the wake of the pandemic and the lockdowns that forced many to stay at home. Forced to work from home, many quickly realized that they could get many of the tasks they did in the office done without the lengthy commute.
More than that, some even found they were more productive. That outlook is showing no signs of abating either. In January, a LinkedIn poll of 1,590 employees conducted by People Management found that 73 percent felt they were more productive when working from home.

But while working from home might be here to stay, it can be a whole lot easier for some than others. Axel the English bulldog's owner, Jo, from London in the U.K., is a case in point.
From the moment she brought him home as a puppy just over a year ago, Jo has known Axel is a special dog. "Axel defies all the stereotypes of an English bulldog," Jo told Newsweek.
"He is incredibly adventurous, he is full of energy, loves swimming and walks in the woods where he can destroy sticks. He absolutely loves orange balls - in fact any ball!"
Axel is also a sociable dog. "He is a retriever trapped in a Bulldog's body," Jo said. "He is often found with his best mates the Golden Doodle Rodney, a Retriever called Lady and Plott Hound by the name of Winnie."

...
He's even made animal friends of the non-canine variety at home. "Axel has two furry cat brothers, British shorthairs Fenton and Gatsby, and can often be found playing who can climb the highest with them," Jo said.
In many ways, Axel is the perfect companion to have around the home. Except when Jo needs to get some work done, that is. Then it's anything but perfect.
"He is constantly jumping up on the dining bench to sit next to me," Jo said. "He places his head on the table and makes frequent appearances on my [Microsoft] Teams calls. He has also clocked the 'bing' noise of the Teams call ending. He thinks it means playtime and he will dart for his ball the minute he hears the meeting finish."
Axel is not the first dog to distract a homeworker, but more recently he's found a new adorable way to disrupt his owner's workday. In a video posted to TikTok under the handle Axel_Bulldog22, Jo captured the moment when, after returning from a bathroom break, she found her English bulldog spread out across the desk on top of her paperwork.
Partly napping, partly catching a few rays, Axel appeared entirely unapologetic when he was caught. "Really?" Jo can be heard asking on the video. "Who do you think you are? That's so inappropriate, dog!"
Even then, Axel appears unmoved. It's a good thing that he is so cute. Anyone looking for tips on how to keep their dog entertained while working from home should click here.
