Burger King Ridicules Trump For Misspelling in Tweet: 'We're All Out Of Hamberders'

Burger King ridiculed President Donald Trump for misspelling "burger" in a tweet boasting about serving the National Champion Clemson Tigers fast food during their visit to the White House yesterday.

On Tuesday morning, Burger King's official social media page mocked Trump's typo on Twitter. "Due to a large order placed yesterday, we're all out of hamberders," the chain wrote. "Just serving hamburgers today."

The comment came just hours after Trump bragged that he personally paid for more than 1,000 fast food burgers due to the shutdown in a tweet where he misspelled the word "hambergers." "Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc," the president said in the tweet, which has since been deleted. "Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!"

Prior to the visit, Trump told reporters outside the White House yesterday that he'll be serving fast food to the national champion Clemson Tigers football team because he thought it was their favourite food. "I believe—I don't know if the weather changes things—but the Clemson championship team, the national championship team, will be coming tonight," Trump said. "It will be exciting. Very great team. They'll be coming tonight. I think we're going to serve McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King, with some pizza. I really mean it. It would be interesting. I would think that's their favorite food. So we'll see what happens. But they're coming tonight, the national champions, subject to the weather."

Although it is still unclear whether the team actually likes fast food, Trump himself has always been a vocal fan of the cuisine, including McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Yahoo White House correspondent Hunter Walker shared a video to Twitter taken at the White House last night. In it, Trump can be seen showing off the enormous fast food spread moments before the Clemson team arrived for dinner. "What's your favorite thing here Mr. President?" a reporter can be heard asking Trump. "I like it all, it's all good stuff. Great American food," the president replied while beaming at the Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's and Domino's Pizza.

In a statement on Monday, the White House said that "the President is personally paying" for the fast food because he wanted to hold a "fun event to celebrate" the Clemson University Tigers' victory.
