Especially with regard to multiplayer and Blackout, Operation Spectre Rising is an absolutely massive addition to Black Ops 4. Not only have some of the game's most troublesome weapons been fixed, but there are also new ones to try including the Ballistic Knife, Tigershark LMG and Nifo'oti Club. The LMG is obviously the most exciting member of the trio, but more melee options never hurt. For Spectre, we imagine their ability set will be much like what currently exists in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Ripper passive gives Spectre an increased melee lunge, while Active Camo keeps the Specialist's presence under wraps. For those who have the Black Ops Pass, there's even more coming to multiplayer including three new maps.

Speaking of new maps, Blackout is also getting a much needed shot of adrenaline with Operation Spectre Rising. The Hydro Dam has exploded, giving way to a flood of water and the new Wetworks redesign. These changes arrive alongside the Bounty Hunter Mode, where players race to special Spectre Stashes marked on the map. Opening one transforms that player into Spectre, offering access to the Shadow Blade and enhanced radar capabilities. In simple terms, Bounty Hunter seems heavily inspired by Fortnite's Infinity Gauntlet concept. While it would've been nice to see more representation from Zombies in this patch, Black Ops 4 update 1.17 and Operation Spectre Rising serves to be the biggest revision this game has seen to date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Operation Spectre Rising content is live first on PS4.
