'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Classified Easter Egg Cutscene Unlocked by Glitches
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies enthusiasts have finally uncovered the ending cutscene for Classified, and it's sparked some controversy within the community. The short clip requires players to reach round 150, which was accomplished by Pluto, TheGamingRevo and dkdynamite on Monday. The only catch is that the trio had to use glitches and exploits to get it done without crashing.
The 90-second ending features the Ultimis Zombies crew sitting in a cell inside Hangar 4 after the events of Moon. A reanimated Richtofen quips to Nikolai, who sips his beloved vodka. Just as he's about to take a swig the Blood of the Dead quartertet enter via a portal, and Primis Nikolai tells the Ultimis crew they must prepare to fight the Great War against Doctor Monty. In short, the ending suggests future Aether Zombies DLC will feature the Primis and Ultimis groups uniting for the first time ever.

In typical Zombies fashion, there are plenty of questions left unanswered. For example, why is the version of Richtofen that comes through the portal wearing his Primis outfit if Primis Richtofen was sacrificed at the end of Blood of the Dead? Did the post-Revelations Richtofen change his clothes, or is this the Primis Richtofen replica seen at the start of Blood of the Dead? The dialogue implies a lot has happened between Classified and Blood of the Dead, so hopefully upcoming DLC fills in those narrative gaps.
More controversial than the ending itself, however, is how the cutscene was obtained. Since the clip can't be unlocked without cheating like Pluto's team has done, there's debate to be had about whether or not Treyarch has properly served diehard Zombies fans. If the only way to beat the map is to break it in ways the developer does not intentionally allow, is Classified broken? Should it have been released at all if it can't be finished in a legitimate way?
Black Ops 4 is the best zombies release to date *CONCEPTUALLY*, but absolute worst in practice. Classified egg is a perf example. I don't mind a high round egg, but when you can only get 100+ through glitches & exploits, you know the product simply was not ready to be released.

In response to the discovery, Zombies expert MrRoflWaffles posted a string of salient tweets directed at Treyarch and Zombies Director Jason Blundell:
"Black Ops 4 is the best Zombies release to date conceptually, but absolute worst in practice. The Classified egg is a perfect example. I don't mind a high-round egg, but when you can only get to 100+ through glitches and exploits, you know the product simply was not ready to be released. And honestly, at this point, I am so very deeply over Blundell's weird approach to community development. I love the guy's work but I feel like his obsession with secrecy and being cryptic has resulted in an incredibly poor community environment. COMMUNICATE FOR ONCE PLEASE.
"Can't think of a single other example of a game releasing in a state this unplayable, this fundamentally unfinished, without the developers acknowledging it in the slightest. 'General stability improvements' is categorical, hand-waving bollocks. Get on camera and talk to us Jason."
As those tweets imply, this isn't the first time the Zombies faithful have felt disappointed by Treyarch's post-launch approach to Black Ops 4. In addition to vague patch notes accompanying major updates, critical Easter egg steps were also unexpectedly changed with the arrival of version 1.03. To already unhappy players, the fact that Classified appears to be a broken map with a nearly impossible reward just adds insult to injury.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Classified is available through the Black Ops Pass.
