'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Zombies Dead of the Night Easter Egg Guide & Walkthrough
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has a new Black Ops Pass map called Dead of the Night. In this detailed guide, we'll walk you through all the steps required to complete its main Easter egg quest. A solid understanding of the map is mandatory.
It will help in the future if you have the Quick Revive, Stamin-Up, Dying Wish and Secret Sauce perks enabled. You should also activate the Sentinel Artifact at the Grand Staircase and unlock Pack-a-Punch as well. Check out our guide for more details on how to do that.
Craft Silver Bullets
In order to stand a chance against the enemies you'll find in Dead of the Night, you'll first need to craft Silver Bullets. Doing so requires three parts with several possible spawn points. We'll outline the locations below.
Candle Holder
On a table in the Entrance Hall

On the floor in the Billiards Room

In the main hall in front of a vase

Cup
On a table in the Dining Room

On the edge of the banquet table in the Dining Room

In the West Hallway on the floor

Plate
Inside this wood console in the Wine Cellar

On the opposite side of the Wine Cellar on the wall

On this nearby table

Take these parts to the crafting bench in the Wine Cellar shown below. The next step is to get the silver used in the gunpowder. Again, you're looking for parts with a few different spawn points.

Charcoal
By the hearth in the Main Hall

By the hearth in the Billiards Room

By the hearth in the Master Bedroom

Poop
On the ground in the Cemetery near the statue of a boy

On this Cemetery path to the right

Near this tree in the Mausoleum

Sulfur
In the Greenhouse Laboratory on a desk to your left

In that same room on a desk to your right

On this messy desk in the back of the area

Go the workbench in the Library to craft it all together.

Build the Shield
The Shield also has three parts with several possible spawn locations.
Part 1
On the East Balcony

On the Grand Staircase by the Music Room

On the West Balcony near the RK7 weapon machine.

Part 2
On this table in the Study

On this couch in the Library

On this broken shelf in the Library

Part 3
In the East Hallway on this chair

Next to this pillar in the Dining Room

On this shelf next to the staircase in the Dining Room

Once you have all three parts, craft the Ballistic Shield at the bench in the Smoking Room.

Upgraded Alistar's Folly
Beyond Alistar's Folly, you'll also need to upgrade it from the Chaos Theory to the Annihilator. You can get the first part by killing a werewolf with a Silver Bullet. Take the part to this machine in the Greenhouse Laboratory.

Next, find this bookshelf in the Library and melee it with your Shield to reveal a secret room and a part. Go to the bench in the Greenhouse Lab to make Chaos Theory.

To make it the Annihilator, you must kill Vampires with charged Chaos Theory shots to get yellow Vampire Bile. Get it four or five times. Bile in hand, go to this red gravestone in the Cemetery. Interact and a red Vampire will appear. Kill him and pick up the Chaos Material he drops.

To get the third part, shoot the red-orange lit lanterns on the handrails behind the Mystery Box. You'll see a puff of red smoke emerge if it's the right lantern. Repeat it four times in quick succession with the Chaos Theory and a bat will appear. Shoot that bat to get another part.

For the last part, wait for Zombies or Vampires to walk past a pile of dirt with blue mushrooms in the Forest. Shoot it with the Theory, a yellow light will appear and the Zombie will dig. Eventually a Zombie will dig up the final part.

Take all the parts to Greenhouse Lab again to craft the parts two times into Premium Material. After that, go to the nearby buildable bench to get the Annihilator.
Telescope Quest
With that prep work out of the way, we can finally start working towards the main Easter egg quest. Start by interacting with the stones you encountered for Pack-a-Punch, and keep looking till you see visions of a Knight, circular object and a pile of sticks.
After that, head to the Mausoleum and you'll see a rod on one of the central buildings. All players must shoot that rod with Silver Bullets till the beam fully activates and directs to the Main Hall.

Now go to the North Atrium Bridge and interact with the three small boxes there to reveal a series of wheels. You can spin the wheels by aiming at them to the left or right in the desired direction.

The goal of this puzzle is to have the red, green and blue beams get blocked by gems.
You want the blue beam to hit its own circular ring, then adjust the other two wheels to block the red and green beams at the same time. This is hard to explain in text, so we'd advise using the video guide above. The final version should look something like this.

Once it's lined up, the beam will explode the statue's head, direct to the Greenhouse Laboratory and spawn three symbols in three areas on the map. There are six possible locations these three symbols can appear. When you find a symbol, write down its shape as you go. The rooms also have one, two or three sets of hash scratch marks. Total the number of hashes you see.
Billiards Room

You may also see a scratch mark on this nearby wall.

More stretch marks on this wall by the cabinet

Under this desk on the floor may be more scratches.

Dining Room
In the Dining Room, the symbol is often located on this pillar.

You may see scratches on this wall too.

Or on this tablecloth

Or on the ceiling by this hanging lamp

Again, count the number of hashes in each scratch and make note of the symbol.
Entrance Hall
Look under the table shown below to find a symbol. Now for the scratches:

On the statue to the right of the perk machine

On the wall next to the painting

On the floorboard next to the circular hole in the wall

Master Bedroom
The symbol is behind the trophy case with the lamp next to it on the wall.

Scratches on the pillar across from the bear statue

Scratches on this nightstand with the lamp on top

Scratches above the bathtub behind the barricade

Wine Cellar
The symbol is on these bottle racks on the backing of the case.

Scratches on this barrel next to the candelabra

Scratches on the large wine cabinet

Scratches in the corner on this big wine barrel

Library
A symbol is to the left of the Wonder Weapon spot.

Scratches by this big hole in the wall

Scratches on a pillar close to the dinosaur statue

Scratches on this box next to the Egyptian statue

Main Hall
There's a symbol on this pillar by the staircase.

Scratches above this frame

Scratches by this clock-like decoration in the next room over

Scratches by this statue to the right of the Grand Staircase

Now that you've found three symbols and hash mark totals, the next step is to take that info to the machine at the Greenhouse Laboratory shown below. When you interact with it, the direction you face makes the wheel turn clockwise or counterclockwise. Melee the wheel to confirm the selection.

Line the machine up to your symbols ordered from their lowest to highest scratch values. In other words, the room with seven scratches would go before one with 11. If done right, the symbol code will blink and the telescope will spin. If done wrong, the whole step will reset and your symbols will move.
Now, with your Shield, go to the small nearby wheel and melee it. The wheel will dent.

With shields equipped, you must turn on the electric trap near the telescope. Run your shields through the current and then sprint up to the telescope and melee it. You can repeat this as many times as you like, but you'll know you've done it right when the screen goes white. When that happens, a small door will open by the stairs to reveal a yin-yang symbol.

To move forward, all players must interact with the symbol. Press and hold the button until the action finishes. At this point you're locked in until all enemies are gone. Go back to the yin-yang symbol and interact with it to finish the telescope quest.

The Effigy Quest
Go to the Cemetery and look for five trees with lots of leaves falling down. Shoot the branches off these trees and hold interact to pick them up.
1) As you enter the Cemetery

2) As you enter the Mausoleum

3) Another tree here

4) On the opposite side of that tree here

5) Another tree by the house on the Cemetery Path

If these screenshots don't do it, just look for the intense leaf effects. The trees shouldn't be too hard to find since they're all in the same general area.
If you're playing co-op and there's a butler character in your party, the butler has to go to his grave in the Cemetery. It looks like this. If you don't have a butler, find a grave that matches another character. Interact with it, and your screen will fill with smoke. The sticks you collected will now form an effigy. The butler character, or the gravestone character, can interact with it and climb onto it. Shoot it with a charged shot of the Annihilator. At this point you'll see a fire effect and the gravestone player will seemingly fall into a fiery hellscape.

The gravestone player will respawn at their grave, but they'll be invisible to their teammates The dead player must go back into the mansion as fast as possible and look for a ghost. It usually spawns in the Entrance Hall as seen in the screenshot below. If you don't see it, try holding the interact button by the large banquet table. Escort the ghost to the Cemetery. It will explode and leave a stone on the ground. The ghost player must interact with it to come back to life.

Gear up and approach this stone tablet in the Cemetery when all players are ready. Everyone must hold the interact button and you'll be locked in. Once again, kill all your foes till your screen flashes white. The effigy quest is done.

The Knight Quest
You'll need to find three Firegate Energy Cores around the map. Here are a few possible spawn locations, but there may be more in this general area.
By some pipes in the Greenhouse Laboratory

On the Cemetery Path

On this slab in the Main Hall

Insert a Core in this trap in the Library. Shoot the fire that comes out of it with a charged Annihilator shot and the flames will turn blue.

Melee the flames with your shield and run up the stairs past the Study to the fireplace in the Smoking Room. Melee the hearth and the blue flame should transfer. Now run back to the Library and melee the fireplace to the right of the trap we activated to start the sprint. Melee the fireplace to the left of that and end by meleeing the fireplace in the Billiards Room. If done right you'll see a gem in the hearth that you can pick up.

The process is very much the same as we insert a Fire Core in the Master Bedroom as well. Insert the core and shoot the flame with a charged Annihilator. Collect the blue flame and light fireplaces in the trophy room, by the bed, in the Music Room and in the Dining Room. Do it right and get another gem.
For the last set, go back to the Master Bedroom trap and light your shield. Now light fireplaces in the Main Hall, East Gallery, the fireplace in the lower left of the Main Hall and then the fireplace in the West Gallery. Get your third and final gem.
All we need to do now is take those three gems to the three Knights around the map. When you do, the Knight will crumble and the gem will float.
In the Main Hall

In the Gardens by the Greenhouse Laboratory

In the Cemetery

Take the three floating gems, that should be following you, to the Forest. Look for three versions of this symbol on the ground to the left, right and center. A gem will slot into each one. The symbols will transform into Knight Soul Boxes, which means you need to kill Zombies by each one. Every few kills the Knight will become a gem again and move forward. Do this for all three Knights till they reach the Pack-a-Punch machine. An electric current will form when they all arrive. Just kill the enemies that appear till the current goes away.

The Knights will get sucked into the ground a symbol will form. Just like all the other quests, all players must hold to interact with it.

You'll endure one more lockdown till the screen goes white. A circular door will spawn in the Forest, which takes you to the boss.

Boss Fight
The Boss Fight is spread across three stages. The first thing you'll notice is a green spot on the floor and three statues with a white light. Hold interact on the statues to move them and their light. The goal is to bring the light towards the green area of the map. You'll know it's positioned correctly when the beam turns green.
When this happens, you should stand in it to lure the boss into the green area where he'll get stuck. Once he's stuck, unload on him with everything you've got. You'll need to repeat the process five or six times.
Eventually he'll jump up and disappear to make room for Zombies and other enemies. Keep killing them until the Werewolf comes back in his invisible state. This last stage is like the first, except you can't see the green square. Instead, just move all the statues around till their beams turn green. That will show you where the square is, and you can lure the boss there. Repeat this process a few times and it will go down.
If you're still here, congratulations! You just finished the Dead of the Night Easter egg.
