While there isn't much here in terms of bug fixes, the true highlight is the addition of new content for all players to enjoy. Ardent fans of Call of Duty: WWII are often frustrated when teammates don't play to the objective, but the Cavalry Division provides every incentive in the world to give it a shot. Especially as Sledgehammer continues to add more objective-based, limited-time modes, the potential effectiveness of the Cavalry can't be overstated.

As far as perks are concerned, Escalation offers a solid compromise for those who've been frustrated with WWII's slower sprint-out times. By equipping Escalation, players who are skilled have a chance to remedy that problem once and for all.

This update arrives on the eve of Call of Duty: WWII 's United Front DLC. Per usual, the expansion offers three multiplayer maps a brand-new War Mode Operation and an additional chapter of Nazi Zombies. The DLC is expected to go live June 26 at 12 a.m. EDT.

Call of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The 1.18 update is deploying across all platforms.
