Candace Owens Accuses Alyssa Milano of Cultural Appropriation on Fox News for Comparing MAGA Hat to KKK Hood

Political commentator Candace Owens appeared on Fox News on Saturday to condemn actress Alyssa Milano's comparison of the "Make America Great Again" hats worn by supporters of President Donald Trump to the Ku-Klux-Klan white hood.

Host Jesse Watters opened the conversation by referencing Milano's "hard-left" tweets.

"You tear-gassed women and children, a** wipe! And on Thanksgiving weekend, you piece of s***, a**hole, motherf***ing, evil-creature person," Milano tweeted in November.

More recently, however, the actress received backlash when she said last week that the MAGA hat was "the new white hood."

When Watters asked Owens what happened to "the dear Samantha" from the TV series Who's the Boss, the 29-year-old simply responded that she has only known Milano as the "insane" leftist.

"I only know this hard left, insane person that tweets things that are ultimately–and you can laugh at it, but it is ultimately really offensive, Owens told Watters World.

"You want to talk about cultural appropriation," she added. "Imagine being a white woman who has had no experience in the KKK and no history of it in their family. When somebody wants to talk about the KKK, those stories growing up in my household are very real.

"I am a Black American. For her it's nothing. It's just a mean for her to shout into the Twitter echo chamber to get feedback," she continued.

Owens then went on to say that she called out Milano on Twitter, but was "instantly" blocked by the actress.

—Sorry. I wanted to try out being as incomprehensibly stupid as @Alyssa_Milano for a tweet.

"Now why would @Alyssa_Milano block a minority woman? Oh, I know. Because the KKK means nothing to her," Owens tweeted Wednesday. "Blacks mean NOTHING to these rich, white liberals. All minorities are just a means for Democrats to gain attention and power. They are demented, sick perverts."

Owens is the founder of a political movement known as Blexit, meaning "black exit." The conservative commentator has advocated for Black Americans to be released from the "grip" of the Democratic Party.

"Blexit is a Renaissance," Owens told Fox News. "Blexit is the black exit from the Democratic Party. It's the black exit from permanent victimhood, the black exit from the false idea that we are somehow separate from the rest of America."

Milano's comments on Twitter came after students wearing MAGA hats were involved in a confrontation with Native American elders at the Indigenous Peoples March last week. The student at the heart of the interaction, which went viral on social media, has claimed he was attempting to diffuse the situation.
