Capcom to Release Two 'Major' Games Before March 2019

Capcom released its yearly financial earnings report, boasting its fifth year in a row of profitability. To continue this trend, Capcom will release "two major titles" in the current financial period ending March 31, 2019.

The two "major" games will not be Japan-exclusive so the global audience will be able to enjoy what Capcom has to offer. The pair of games are part of Capcom's plan to promote a "global expansion of major brands."

It's unclear what the two major Capcom games are, but with E3 2018 on the horizon the company may give some hints as to what's coming. One Capcom title that's already been announced and is releasing in the current financial year is Mega Man 11 for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. However, Mega Man 11 may or may not be one of the two major games Capcom is referring to in its financial report.

Capcom's library of IP include: Mega Man, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter. Monster Hunter World, the latest game in the franchise, was the best-selling title in the company's history. It's regularly updated with new events so that IP is likely not one of the two games.

Street Fighter V was the latest in the fighting game franchise, which was released back in 2016, but a superior Arcade Edition was released at the beginning of 2018, so it's unlikely it's a part of Capcom's bigger plans this year.
