Twitter Reacts to Cardi B's New Song 'Be Careful' And They Aren't Impressed

Cardi B's new single "Be Careful" was met with mixed reactions from fans on Friday. The new song is the latest single from her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, which is slated for an April 6 release.

Unlike the club anthems fans are used to hearing from Cardi, "Be Careful" is a more downtempo track that serves as a warning for a cheating lover. "The only man, baby, I adore/I want you to live your life of course/But I hope you get what you dyin' for/Be careful with me," Cardi raps.

Coincidentally, Cardi and her fiancé, Offset—one member of the rapping trio Migos—have been at the epicenter of cheating rumors since the couple got engaged last year. In December, Offset was targeted in an iCloud hack and a video surfaced of a man, alleged to be the Atlanta native, with another woman surfaced online. Cardi addressed Offset's infidelity in January and said she was going to "work out my shit with my man."

Despite Cardi's attempts to seemingly expose the issues within her relationship on "Be Careful," some fans weren't impressed with the new song. Dozens of people took to Twitter on Friday to share their opinions, and many of them used memes to express their disappointment.

In typical Cardi fashion, the 25-year-old didn't hesitate to respond to the criticism. "Sometimes you gotta switch it up," Cardi wrote on Twitter.

She later added: "You wanna know something the ones hating are the same people that never liked me or my songs but stayed up all night to listen to Cardi B!"

The former Love & Hip Hop star's first single "Bodak Yellow"—released in June—landed at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 in September, making Cardi the first female solo artist to reach No. 1 in 19 years. Lauryn Hill was last to achieve the honor with 1998's "Doo Wop (That Thing)."

Since then, four other Cardi singles have landed within the Billboard Hot 100's top 10, including Bruno Mars' "Finesse;" "Motorsport," a collaboration with Migos and Nicki Minaj; "Bartier Cardi" featuring 21 Savage and G-Eazy's "No Limit."
