One of the world's longest-running debates is whether cats or dogs are the better pets. Owners of each will go to bat for them, listing the reasons why one is a greater choice than the other.
A cat owner decided to take the debate online and post a reason for why cats are superior. In a December 26 Instagram reel posted to the account @kevertai, Jean Black poked fun at what dog owners have to deal with in the winter, bringing in over 12.3 million views.
The text on the video reads: "Watching dog owners pick up frozen poo in the winter from the comfort of our warm home."

Black was holding his cat gazing outside the window. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt despite the frigid temperatures as winter finally rolled into Paris. He claims that "life is better" with his cat.
No matter the weather, dog owners will have to face the extremes to let their dogs outside. Cat owners on the other hand simply watch from the comfort of their own home.
The video reignited the ongoing debate between cat and dog owners, raking in nearly 7,000 comments.
"As a dog mom, I'll smile and wave at y'all. Living both our best lives, regardless of how didn't they look!" commented a viewer.
But other dog owners weren't so friendly. They flooded the comment section with counterarguments.
One person wrote: "Cats s*** in a box and then walk their s***-covered feet all over your house."
Another added: "You know it smells like cat scat in there."
Newsweek reached out via Instagram for additional comment.

Cat vs. Dog Debate
It's a question as old as time—are you more of a cat person or a dog person? People will stand their ground, defending their opinions.
Feline fanatics are quick to come to the defense of these independent animals, claiming cats are low-maintenance. They don't require too much attention as they crave their "me-time," but they are also affectionate in their own way. Cats also have a longer average life expectancy of 15 years, while dogs range between 10 to 13 years.
Dog lovers will often say that their four-legged friends are better because of the unconditional love they provide. They are known as a "man's best friend" for a reason— they want nothing more than to be by their human. Dogs also have an energetic side filled with playing and training.
And just for reference, you don't have to pick a side. There is enough love to go around for both animals!
