'Catherine' on PC Possibly Teased By SEGA Developers

This morning a strange post appeared on Steam's "News" section for the game Bayonetta that has the internet wondering what it could mean. The post is titled "Baa" and features a picture of a sheep. No other comments are included in the post. So what is this all about?

As interpreted by one of the most prolific video game insiders Wario64, this odd post is likely a teaser for the game Catherine making the jump to PC. Sheep imagery is common in Catherine, and the main hang out for the protagonist is a bar named the Stray Sheep. Catherine was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, but never was released for PC. Since release, Catherine developer Atlus has been purchased by SEGA.

Catherine on PC makes a ton of sense considering the game is making the jump to other consoles soon. Catherine: Full Body, a remastered version of the original Catherine, is releasing for PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 14. A Western release for Catherine: Full Body is also planned for later in 2019, but no dates have been announced yet.

If you think it's odd SEGA would make a game announcement in this bizarre way, it isn't the first time. As noted by Siliconera, the Bayonetta Steam page had previously been used to promote Vanquish, and the Vanquish and Binary Domain pages had been used to promote Puyo Puyo Tetris. What's more exciting is the turnaround from these teases. All games teased this way have released around a month later. If history is any indicator, we could be playing Catherine on PC by February.

Catherine is a platforming/puzzle game starring a man who is torn between the love he has for his girlfriend Katherine and the infatuation he feels towards a new woman, named Catherine. The game is broken up into two distinct phases: 3D puzzle platformer sections reminiscent of the arcade classic Q-Bert and a social aspect, with the player interacting with other characters throughout the story. The game's ending is different based on several moral choices made by the player throughout these social sections.

So what do you think? Are you interested in playing through Catherine on your PC? Do you think this tease could be for something else? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
