Thanksgiving 2018: When Will Charlie Brown Movie, 'Frosty the Snowman' Air?

What is Thanksgiving without the annual airing of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving? It's a horror most Americans won't have to consider this year as the Peanuts tradition is set to continue when the holiday-themed episode airs ahead of the holiday.

Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy and the gang will make their annual return to television sets across the U.S. when ABC airs A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday. The hour-long segment will also include This is America, Charlie Brown—the famous episode in which good old Chuck time travels back to 1620 to relive the very first Thanksgiving.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was one of the first of the Peanuts classics to center on the turkey-loving holiday. It originally aired back in 1973 while This Is America, Charlie Brown—an eight-part miniseries based on the beloved comics by Charles M. Schulz—ran on CBS from 1988 to 1989.

Folks too busy preparing for Thanksgiving—or those without access to TV—can still watch the autumnal holiday special, although it may cost them a small fee to stream. The Charlie Brown holiday package, featuring A Charlie Thanksgiving, The Mayflower Voyages and Play it Again, Charlie Brown, is available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes.

The holiday cheer won't end after Thanksgiving, either. CBS will jump into the Christmas spirit on Fridaywith its annual airing of Frosty The Snowman and Frosty Returns at 8 p.m. EST and 8:30 p.m. EST respectively. The Christmas programming continues on Saturday with Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire at 8 p.m. EST, Robbie The Reindeer: Legend of the Lost Tribe at 8:30 p.m. EST and The Story of Santa Claus at 9 p.Sm. ET.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will make its annual debut on CBS the following week on Nov. 27.
