Charlotte Airport Delays and Cancellations: Hurricane Florence Affects Flights In North Carolina

Although Hurricane Florence has been downgraded to a Category 2, it is still predicted to bring powerful winds, heavy rain and severe flooding, disrupting ground and air transportation along the Eastern Seaboard.

Airlines have already begun announcing flight cancellations, especially throughout Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. For those in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area, Charlotte Douglas International Airport has urged all travelers to double-check with airlines for the latest updates and information about flights over the next few days. Many airlines are ready to issue waivers for passengers on delayed or canceled flights.
