The vultures are circling. Chelsea's defeat to Tottenham on Sunday (April 1) could see ramifications that last much longer and go much deeper than derby day gloating.

Chelsea are left eight points short of Tottenham in the Premier League table now, eight points short of fourth place and a Champions League place with only seven games to go. They look doomed for the Europa League.

But not all of their players will be left to wither in Europe's second tier competition, for today's transfer round-up begins at Stamford Bridge with a very tempting offer.

According to the London Evening Standard, Real Madrid are considering whether to make a move for Eden Hazard this summer. The 27-year-old Belgian is valued at £100 million by Chelsea, but has struggled to rediscover his form of last season. Hazard's current deal still has two years left to run.

There are also concerns that Thibaut Courtois, the Belgian goalkeeper, could also be on his way out of West London, but according to The Sun Chelsea are on the verge of signing a new goalkeeper. Berke Ozer, who currently plays for Altinordu in the second tier of Turkish football, may be one for the future though as he is still only 17 years old.

Up in the north-east of England, Newcastle United are looking set for another season in the top flight of English football, but they may be set to lose one of their key players. According to TeamTalk, 21-year-old midfielder Mikel Merino has told the club he wants to join Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.

One striker who may be available this summer is Charlie Austin, should Southamtpon be relegated this season. According to the Daily Mirror, there are a trio of clubs monitoring his situation, including Bournemouth and Leicester City, plus promotion hopefuls Aston Villa.

Gareth Barry may have to find himself a new club at the end of the season due to off-field incidents, according to the Daily Telegraph. The 37-year-old midfielder has reached a target of games this season to activate a new deal with West Brom but his future is now uncertain. The Baggies are yet to announce a replacement for Alan Pardew after sacking him on Monday.

And finally, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are looking to pluck one of the stars from Barcelona's La Masia academy, according to Sport. Barca are yet to make 15-year-old Robert Navarro an offer at the club and City are ready to pounce.
