'Dancing With the Stars' Pro Cheryl Burke Announces Engagement to Matthew Lawrence
Dancing with the Stars pro dancer Cheryl Burke announced she's engaged to Boy Meets World alum Matthew Lawrence Thursday.
Burke, 34, confirmed the news to her Instagram and Twitter followers with a series of photos. She said her birthday Thursday was "so far so good" after boyfriend Lawrence, 38, proposed. Burke and Lawrence first met in 2006 after Melissa & Joey star Joey Lawrence. The pair reignited their relationship in February 2017 after calling it quits in 2008, E! Online reported.

"The diamond has special meaning as it's the same diamond that Cheryl's late father, Steve Burke, gave to her mother," Susan Madore, Burke's representative, confirmed to Newsweek Friday. "Matthew, with the help of his mother Donna, Cheryl's mother Sherri and XIV Karats, had the stone reset and added more diamonds to create the ring he proposed to Cheryl with."
Burke was once known for her single status, often putting her stacked workload above all. The Dance Moms star, who took over for Abby Lee Miller when she went to prison, considered finding the one on The Bachelorette, meeting with ABC executives to discuss such possibilities.
"It sounds crazy but I think I'm just so married to my work and I rarely meet new people," she told Entertainment Weekly in 2012. "I've been around the same people for the last six years. I have maybe a month and a half of down time."
Added Burke, "All I want to do during that time is be with my family and sleep so it's hard for me to be introduced to guys. I make the wrong choices."

This will be the first time either star walks down the aisle. In speaking with Us Weekly, Burke confirmed that having an established friendship with Lawrence helped them rekindle their relationship. "I think we have really good companionship and I think we just built from there," Burke told Us Weekly in April. "That's the most important thing. We can actually hang out. When we go away together, we really enjoy it. When it's just the two of us, it's the best."
