How to Watch 'The Chi' Season 8 Premiere Live Stream: Date, Time, and Everything Else to Know

Season 2 of The Chi is set to return to Showtime. Lena Waithe’s highly acclaimed show, which follows the lives of a number of characters living, loving and surviving amidst the hardships prominent in Chicago’s Southside, will premiere on the cable network on Sunday.

Show stars set to reprise their roles in Season 2 include Jason Mitchell as Brandon and Tiffany Boone as his girlfriend Jerricka, Jacob Lattimore as Emmett, Yolonda Ross as Jada, Alex Hibbert as Kevin, Shamon Brown Jr. as Papa, Michael V. Epps as Jake, Barton Fitzpatrick as Reg, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Ronnie and Armando Riesco as Detective Cruz.

Picking up where the show left off, Season 2 will focus on Ronnie’s adjustment to life behind bars as he comes to terms with the murder of Brandon’s younger brother, who he killed in Season 1. As for Brandon, while still grieving the loss of his sibling, he’ll turn his attention to the launch of his food truck business as his relationship with Jerricka faces new challenges.

Meanwhile, Emmett will navigate the struggles of being a single father as he fights for full custody of his son. His mother Jada will still be around to guide him, but she’ll also be dealing with figuring out a new life of her own.

Kevin’s friendships with Papa and Jake will continue to be tested as the young teen starts to encounter the traumas of his own past while Jake falls deeper into the streets through the hard lessons taught by his drug-dealing brother and guardian Reg. Though it all though, the boys still find a way to make it through the pangs that come with growing up in a rough neighborhood and even have some innocent fun in the midst of adversity.

The Chi is set to premiere on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday. Viewers will be able to live stream episodes on Showtime’s website. The series will also be available on the Showtime app. Those with Hulu Live TV subscriptions can access a live stream of the broadcast, while people with standard subscriptions will have to wait until after the show airs to watch on Hulu.
