The sheriff's office said that the child was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies told KHQ06 that the incident is being treated as an accident and the father was not under the influence of anything.

The official cause of death would be established by the county medical examiner, KOMO News reported.

Twitter users in Washington and beyond flocked to express their sorrow for the family's plight, with some questioning the authorities' handling of the incident.

I don’t understand why you would tweet this so soon after it happened. With the info given probably not hard to figure out who the victim was and his father.
