Man Calls Child 'F***ing R****d' for Questioning His Confederate Flag in Video

A man has been captured on video arguing with a child who asked for a Confederate-themed flag hanging outside a home to be removed.

The man told the boy: "Do your research before you actually come to me and sound like a f***ing r****d," arguing the flag is not racist and that "it's a freedom."

A video of the exchange, which was first posted by TikTok user @thomasparis05, was shared Thursday by Twitter user @davenewworld_2. It has had over 38,000 views since it was first posted on Twitter.

"Racist POS argues with a little kid over the Confederate flag and calls him a r**ard. Props to the kid for calling him out," @davenewworld_2 wrote in a post sharing the video.

The kid was first seen cycling towards the man, who was sitting outside the home, saying: "Can I ask you a question? Do you mind taking down that flag?"

The adult refused and asked why, to which the boy replied: "Because no one in the neighborhood likes it."

When the man claimed "it's an American flag," the child repeatedly argued it is a racist flag, at one point saying: "Yeah, it is [the flag is racist]. I'm not stupid."

The adult later told the child: "Why don't you YouTube what the flag actually represents. Do your research before you actually come to me and sound like a f***ing retard."

When the boy questioned "Oh, I'm the f***ing retard?," the man replied "You're the one coming to me telling me to remove a flag. It's a freedom.

"It's not racist. Do your research," the man told the boy, who replied "Maybe you should," as he cycled away.

The footage then cuts to a shot of the flag in question, which appears to be a merge between the U.S. flag and the Confederate flag. The man said: "This is the flag the kid wanted me to remove. I see no problem with it at all. Uneducated little bastard."

The boy was praised by several other users including user @storm_simply, who tweeted: "Dude actually posted this video thinking it would make HIM look good, when all he did was show the world he's a racist who got owned by a 10-year-old." The post has had over 900 likes since it was first shared.

User @AbsurdHandle tweeted: "I'd say it probably hurts to be given a history lesson from what looks to be a 12-year-old, but my guess is that guy isn't bright enough to see the irony of it all." The tweet has had over 300 likes since it was shared.

User @KDJ_Zen wrote: "This little boy is wise beyond his years and the racist's projection at the end, pretty hilarious." The post received over 100 likes since it was tweeted.

The Confederate flag, which bears a star-studded blue cross over a red field, was originally used by the Confederate army of the southern states that seceded from the Union during the U.S. Civil War.

"The eleven seceding states, plus Missouri and Kentucky, are represented in the constellation of thirteen stars in the Confederate flag. The other two slave states, Maryland and Delaware, did not secede," explains Mississippi History Now, a publication of the Mississippi Historical Society.

Over 150 years since the South surrendered, the flag remains a source of controversy.

Back in June 2020, a study of 2,000 registered voters, conducted by Morning Consult and Politico, revealed that 44 percent of people saw displaying the Confederate flag as a symbol of Southern pride, while 36 percent considered it racist.
