The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced eight separate recalls covering TheKiddoSpace-branded children’s products, including toys, books, and activity kits sold nationwide through the company’s website and in some cases via Amazon, with some recalls containing warnings of “serious injury.”
Here’s how to identify the items and what families should do if they have bought and are using the recalled products.
Recalled Children’s Products
1. Children’s Montessori Egg Puzzle Toy
Read More on News
Reason for the recall: The CPSC announcement, published on February 26, said the eggs pose a choking hazard, as they can block a child’s airway, creating a risk of serious injury or death.
How to identify the recalled product: The toy consists of six or 12 plastic eggs that split in half to reveal matching, colored, geometric shapes inside. The eggs are packaged in a yellow storage case, and about 200 units were sold online from June 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Consumers should stop using the toy immediately, remove it from children’s reach, and contact TheKiddoSpace for a full refund. Customers are also instructed to mark the product with “RECALLED,” submit a photo to the company, and dispose of the toy.
2. Children’s Christmas Tree Toy Play Sets
Felt play sets feature a two‑sided Christmas tree and holiday‑themed ornaments.
Reason for the recall: According to the CPSC, the zipper pull on the music box compartment contains lead levels that exceed federal safety limits, posing a health risk if it were accidentally ingested. The tree component also fails to meet mandatory safety standards for battery‑operated toys.
How to identify the recalled product: The felt play set has a two-sided Christmas tree—that’s around 40 inches tall and 28 inches wide—with holiday-themed felt ornaments. The packaging has “TheKiddoSpace” logo and the words “Christmas Tree” on the front. The sets were sold online from November 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Parents should stop using the play set, keep it away from children, and contact TheKiddoSpace for a free replacement toy of equal or greater value. They should write “RECALLED” on the tree, email a photo to info@thekiddospace.com, then throw the tree and storage box away.
3. Peg Doll Toy
TheKiddoSpace Peg Doll toys include wooden peg figures and matching cups.
Reason for the recall: The CPSC said that the peg dolls can block a child’s airway, violating the small parts ban and posing a choking and death risk to children under three years old.
How to identify the recalled product: The toy has seven rainbow-colored wooden peg figures with matching cups, which are presented on a circular wooden tray and come in a blue box printed with TheKiddoSpace logo and “Peg Dolls in Cups.” They were sold online from July 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Consumers have been advised to stop using the toys immediately and contact TheKiddoSpace for a refund. They should mark the toys with “RECALLED,” email a photo of it to info@thekiddospace.com, then dispose of it.
4. Flashcard Talking Toys

Recalled: Two versions of TheKiddoSpace Children’s Flashcard Talking Toys—an animal‑shaped version and a rectangular electronic model**.**
Reason for the recall: The CPSC said, in its official notice, that routine testing found that both versions of the product contain excessive levels of lead and phthalates, both of which are toxic if ingested. The toys also failed to meet safety requirements for battery‑operated products.
How to identify the recalled product: The animal-shaped toys are pastel-colored and have “Audible Flashcards” written on the front of the flashcard storage box and “Audible Flashcard Device” on the front of the toy box.
The rectangular devices have a card slot, speaker, and volume/power buttons, and were sold with multi-colored cards featuring animals, shapes, people, foods, or vehicles.
Both products were sold online, either through TheKiddoSpaceStore.com or Amazon, from October 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Parents are advised to stop using both versions of the toy immediately.
For the animal-shaped toys, they should write “RECALLED” on the unit and email a photo to info@thekiddospace.com to obtain a free replacement. They should then dispose of it.
For the rectangular toys, consumers should cut the USB cable, email a photo of the cut cable to receive a free replacement, then dispose of it.
5 Sensory Swing
Cocoon‑style fabric hammock designed for indoor therapeutic use.
Reason for the recall: The CPSC said that the flexible fabric can form loops that may wrap around a child’s head or neck, posing a risk of serious injury or death from strangulation.
How to identify the recalled product: The swing is a stretchable, cocoon-style indoor hammock in green, gray, blue, pink, and themed prints, and is packaged in a blue drawstring bag printed with “TheKiddoSpace” logo. It was sold online from November 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the swing and contact TheKiddoSpace for a refund. Consumers will be asked to cut the fabric in half, email a photo of the destroyed swing to info@thekiddospace.com, then dispose of it.
6 Children’s Story Books
Recalled product: TheKiddoSpace Children’s Story Books, which are soft fabric books with detachable felt parts, have been recalled as they pose a choking hazard.
Reason for the recall: According to the CPSC announcement, the felt parts on the soft books can detach, posing a choking hazard.
How to identify the recalled product: The books are made from soft fabric and are about 7 x 8 inches, with six felt pages. The cover has TheKiddoSpace logo, and the word “Book” on the front with rainbow and cloud shapes. The books were sold online from March 2023 to February 2025.
What consumers should do: Parents should stop using the books, mark them as recalled, and contact TheKiddoSpace for a refund.
7. Handwriting Practice Kits
Recalled product: TheKiddoSpace Children’s Handwriting Practice Kits, including both print and cursive versions, have been recalled as the pen nibs contain lead.
Reason for the recall: The CPSC notice states that the pens in the kits contain lead in the nibs, which exceeds the federal lead content ban.
How to identify the recalled product: Two types of handwriting kits have been recalled:
a) Block handwriting kits with four reusable books, which have various animals on the front cover, black pens, multicolor grips, and refills
b) Cursive handwriting kits with three reusable books, black pens, multicolor grips, and refills.
Both kits were sold online and via Amazon from February 2024 through February 2025.
What consumers should do: Consumers should remove the pens from children’s reach and contact TheKiddoSpace for a free replacement. They should dispose of the recalled product and email a photo to info@thekiddospace.com.
8. Fingerpainting Kits
Reason for recall: The kits contain hazardous substances, including methanol and ethylene glycol, which violate the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. They also include a regulated phthalate, which is a violation of the federal phthalates ban, according to the CPSC announcement.
How to identify: The kits include a round paint palette with 12, 25, or 36 colors and one or more coloring books. They each come in a light-blue box printed with TheKiddoSpace logo, “Finger Painting Kit,” an image of a child with painted hands, and the quantity of colours included in the kit. They were sold online and through Amazon from June 2023 to February 2025.
What to do: Parents should stop using the kits immediately and contact TheKiddoSpace for a refund. They should write “RECALL” on the back and lid of the paint pad, email a photo to info@thekiddospace.com, then dispose of it.
