Chris Chan Faces up to 10 Years in Prison If Found Guilty of Incest

Christine Weston Chandler, or Chris Chan as she is known online, could face up to 10 years in prison after being arrested on a charge of incest.

The 39-year-old internet personality is being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail following her arrest on Sunday, August 1.

According to Greene County Sheriff's Office, on July 31, officers "received information involving sex crimes against a family member, who resides in the Ruckersville area."

An arrest warrant was issued and a day later the Henrico Police Department successfully located and apprehended "Christine Weston Chandler of Ruckersville, VA."

The blogger and YouTube star was initially held at Henrico's Jail West facility on one count of incest before being transported for arraignment in Greene County, Virginia.

Under Virginia law, incest is a Class 5 felony and carries "a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than 10 years, or in the discretion of the jury or the court trying the case without a jury, confinement in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both."

However, Chan could yet be facing more prison time with Greene County Sheriffs Office stating "this is an ongoing investigation with additional charges pending."

The investigation is being headed up by Investigator Jason Tooley and Greene County Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with any information related to the crime to get in touch.

According to KVIA, Chan's arrest was filmed and streamed live on "The Ralph Retort,'' a show broadcast by alt-right personality Ethan Ralph via the streaming platform Odysee.

The news outlet states that Chan was filmed being led from her hotel room in handcuffs and could later be heard shouting to the camera, "I am compliant, I am good like this. I am Chris Chan Sonichu, your Goddess Blue Heart and I continue to stand strong and I maintain everything with my CWCville, Sonichu and Rosechu and everybody."

Best known for Sonichu, her web comic crossover series featuring a hybrid character based on Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu from Pokemon, Chan is a popular presence online with over 50,000 YouTube subscribers to her name and nearly 60,000 followers on Twitter.

She resides with her 79-year-old mother Barbara, otherwise known as Barb or Barbie, who has featured in several of her previous videos.

Chan had been largely quiet on social media in the days leading up to her arrest. She has not posted on Facebook since July 11, while her most recent YouTube video came on July 27.

Chan's last social media post of any kind came via Twitter on July 30 when she posted an image from the community-based card game Collective alongside a plea for her followers to "withdraw from any and all dramas."

Hey, Y’all. Today’s Collective Card, appropriately, is Turning In. There is drama in the air today. Each and every one of you all are encouraged to withdraw from any and all dramas, gossip, rumors, and whatever else will, and already has, approached your way today. ⚡️💙⚡️ https://t.co/vChUVeulqB pic.twitter.com/CdJ3VGbeDH
