Australian Open 2020: How to Watch Coco Gauff vs. Naomi Osaka Third-Round Match, Start Time, Live Stream

Coco Gauff will take on defending champion Naomi Osaka in the third round of the Australian Open on Friday as her meteoric rise continues.

The 15-year-old rallied from a set and three games down to defeat Romania's Sorana Cirstea in the second round on Wednesday.

Having lost the first set 6-4, Gauff was 3-0 down in the second but showed remarkable composure to come back and win the set 6-3, before eventually clinching the decider 7-5.

Making her first appearance at the Australian Open, the teenager said she was surprised by the support she has been receiving.

"It's amazing," Gauff said as she was interviewed on the court shortly after the end of the match. "Honestly, I didn't think I would get so much support in Australia. I was down 3-0 and you really made me believe."

Osaka, meanwhile, defeated China's Saisai Zheng 6-2, 6-4 in an hour and 20 minutes.

The World No. 4 and two-time Grand Slam winner, however, apologized to the fans for her reaction during the second set, when she threw her racquet on the court and kicked it after losing her serve.

"I couldn't control it, I think that's how I dealt with my frustration," she explained apologetically.

"It was a bit childish. I just want to play one match without throwing my racquet or kicking it. That's all I want."

The duo have already met in a Grand Slam before, with Osaka defeating Gauff 6-3, 6-0 in the third round of the U.S. Open last year.

Gauff, who at No. 67 in the world is the youngest player in the WTA's top 100, is relishing the chance of going up against the 22-year-old again.

"She's a great competitor so I think it's going to be a good match," she said.

"I know what to expect. I'm excited for a good match."
