Courteney Cox Recreates Hilarious 'Friends' Dance Routine With Ed Sheeran
The recently unveiled Friends reunion has enveloped fans in a wave of nostalgia as they recall their favorite memories of the classic sitcom.
And Courteney Cox brought another memorable moment from the NBC show to the fore on Sunday, when she shared a video of herself recreating a dance routine with her musician pal Ed Sheeran.
The actress, 56, took to Instagram to post the clip, which showed her moving in perfect sync with Sheeran, 30, as they performed a hilarious routine from Friends' season 6 episode The One With the Routine.
Sheeran took the place of Cox's onscreen brother David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) as he impressively matched his glamorous friend step-for-step.
After counting in the start of the routine, Cox—who played Monica Geller on the show—was seen mime-slapping her dance partner before she crouched down and Sheeran leapfrogged over her.
The comedically awkward routine also saw them bouncing up and down on one leg and flapping their arms like chickens.
However, the pair failed to land the ending, when Cox made a run to jump into Sheeran's arms, only to overshoot and fall on the grass, pulling him down with her.
Adding to the authenticity of the moment, an audience laugh track was heard as Loreta's "Trouble With Boys" played in the background.
Captioning the fun-filled clip, which was shot in an oceanfront setting, Cox wrote: "Just some routine dancing with a friend... @teddysphotos #ReRoutine.'
Sheeran also posted the video to his own Instagram account, adding the caption: "Had a reunion of our own this weekend @courteneycoxofficial #theroutine #iknow #friends4eva #obviouslybetterthanross."
In The One With the Routine, Monica and Ross revived their high school dance routine in a bid to be featured on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, while ringing in the year 2000.
Cox and Sheeran have been friends for several years, with the actress allowing the then-rising star to live rent-free in her Malibu home for several months as he recorded his sophomore album in 2013.
"There was no rent but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that," Sheeran told The Sun the following year. "If you're staying at your friend's house, you should treat it like your own."
Last week, Cox was seen getting back together with her Friends co-stars Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry on HBO Max's long-awaited Friends: The Reunion.
Hosted by James Corden, the one-off special showed the stars looking back on their decade-long run on the beloved sitcom, which came to an end in 2004.
Guest stars included Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck, Cindy Crawford, Lady Gaga, BTS, Justin Bieber, and Cara Delevingne.
