Cozy 'Winnie the Pooh'-Inspired Home Listed on Airbnb

Nestled in Ashdown Forest is a Winnie the Pooh-inspired house that was created to celebrate the classic childhood character's 95th anniversary. This property, located in Nutley, England, United Kingdom, will be available for two separate stays through Airbnb, a resource people use to book homes.

According to a press release by Airbnb, Winnie the Pooh illustrator Kim Raymond was involved in the development of the "Bearbnb" and is hosting the stay. Much of the house took inspiration from E.H. Shepard, an illustrator who worked with the creator of the lovable character, A.A. Milne.

"This house is a window into my world," Raymond wrote in the Airbnb listing. "I have been working with a team of experts to bring Winnie the Pooh's 'Tree House' as depicted in the classic A.A. Milne tales, to life, in Ashdown Forest, the inspiration behind the Hundred Acre Wood, as part of Disney's 95th Anniversary celebrations of the loveable children's character."

The treasured stories follow the fictional anthropomorphic teddy bear and his adventures with his friends.

"I have been illustrating Winnie the Pooh for 30 years and I continue to be inspired by the classic decorations of E.H. Shepard and the more recent Disney stories," Raymond said. "The 'Bearbnb' is a unique experience that brings the charm of Pooh for life for fans, whilst honoring the original adventures that have been so important to many people for 95 years."

The release stated that the home is built with exposed tree branches wrapped around the doorway, pots of "hunny" are stocked in the kitchen cupboards and has wallpaper designed by Raymond. There is also a sleeping space for a family of four.

The guest booking fee will also be donated to Together for Short Lives, a charity based in the United Kingdom that works to support "seriously ill" children and their families.

The listing notes a number of activities available to the groups who booked the stay.

"You will be taken on a guided tour through the original Hundred Acre Wood, play Poohsticks on the iconic Poohsticks Bridge and enjoy locally sourced, hunny-inspired meals," it reads.

Poohsticks is a game in which players drop a stick on the upstream side of a bridge. The stick that appears on the downside side first is the winner.

"Winnie the Pooh is a childhood jewel beloved by families the world over," said Airbnb Global Head of Hosting Catherine Powell. "This year, the original books celebrate their 95th anniversary. What better way to commemorate A.A. Milne's classic work than with these two once-in-a-lifetime stays in the original Hundred Acre Wood."

Booking for the "Bearbnb" opens on September 20 to current residents of the United Kingdom for $105 per night.
