Internet users have rushed to the defense of a mischievous dachshund who poisoned himself with treats—but it is hard to deny the evidence when it was caught on pet cam.
Dog owner Amie Molloy, 29, shared a hilarious video on TikTok (@amieandcolin) of the moment she confronted her dachshund, Colin, about his terrifying antics. During the clip, she said that she had spent £35 (approximately $47) after calling poison control because Colin had eaten an entire bag of supplements "in one go."
Molloy, from the U.K., told Newsweek that she and her boyfriend saw Colin tucking into the bag on the pet cam after the supplements arrived in the post. The couple "both raced home to find he'd eaten the whole lot" before they could stop him.

"He ate a whole bag of joint supplements, which luckily were made from natural ingredients," Molloy said. "He's only 8 pounds, so it was quite a large portion for him."

...
As a result, Molloy called the vet who advised her to phone poison control.
While Molloy got over the fear and terror that Colin caused, the dog didn't seem too bothered. During the interrogation, the unfazed pup just lay on the couch and occasionally rolled onto his back to stretch out. He did have a busy day of eating, after all.
Molloy continued: "They wanted to know if he was experiencing any discomfort, and they then checked all the ingredients. They advised he should be fine, but one ingredient could cause liver damage, which wouldn't show up for 24 to 48 hours. They also said he would likely vomit and have diarrhea."
Colin was very quiet for the rest of that day, but Molloy said that, by that evening, "he was asking for his dinner" as usual.
The TikTok video also includes damming pet cam evidence showing the moment he tore into the pack of dog supplements all by himself. The footage shows him wandering over to his dog bed with the bag in his mouth, only to start eating away and poisoning himself.
Internet users can't get enough of the chaos that Colin caused, leading to more than 426,000 views and over 33,500 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. Many TikTok users were quick to defend Colin and insisted that he is innocent until proven guilty.
Despite the scare, Colin didn't experience any side effects, and he was absolutely fine. Alongside the clip, Molloy joked on TikTok that hopefully "that'll teach him," but only time will tell.
She told Newsweek: "He's back to being his normal, devious self. If anything, he was actually full of energy the following day. If you're getting deliveries and you have a hungry boy like Colin, definitely consider getting a cage for your post. We have now ordered one to stop it happening again."
In the days since the video was shared online, it has amassed over 1,400 comments on TikTok. Many lauded Colin for being so uncaring, while others said that Molloy shouldn't rush to assume that he is guilty.
One comment reads: "Colin is so unbothered. May we all be unbothered as much as Colin in all things."
Another TikTok user wrote: "God forbid a dog take care of his health."
A third person posted: "I would day this 'evidence' is inconclusive."
One comment added: "Technically they were for him."
