Actor and singer David Cassidy has revealed he is battling dementia.

Cassidy, best known for his starring role in 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, told People: "I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming."

The 66-year-old star said he has stopped touring as a musician in order "to focus on what I am, who I am and how I've been without any distraction."

"I want to love. I want to enjoy life," he added.
