Transfer News: David De Gea to Real Madrid Latest, Juventus Wants £40 Million Manchester United Target

Manchester United perhaps looked forward for a summer during which it didn't have to fight Real Madrid for its goalkeeper David De Gea. So much for that.

Nearly two years after De Gea almost moved to the Spanish capital, he's again the subject of interest from Real, The Guardian reports.

United is reportedly "determined" to hold onto De Gea, one of the world's best goalkeepers. The 26-year-old has two years left on his contract and is apparently not desperate to change teams.

But Real's interest is still a problem for United manager Jose Mourinho, who is shooting for a Premier League title challenge. Real is determined when it comes to transfers, especially when the prize is bringing the Spanish goalkeeper home.

Meanwhile, United has yet to come anywhere close to tying up Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic—and now Juventus could swoop in.

The Daily Mail reports that Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of the Italian giant, is a fan of the defensive midfielder. Juventus was targeting Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi. But Allegri would prefer Matic and it seems more likely he would move to Serie A than United after Mourinho stole Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

The probable departure of Matic leaves a six-foot-four-hole in Chelsea's midfield that should be filled by A.S. Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, but his transfer is taking longer than expected.

On Friday morning, Bakayoko posted a tweet, since deleted, saying "Good morning," although the location of the post was pinned to Manchester. Later on Friday he posted red and white circles followed by two hearts… which could be a reference to United, or a goodbye to Monaco. Or it could be Bakayoko trolling everyone.

One Bakayoko's teammates appears close to a transfer to the Premier League, too. Benjamin Mendy, Monaco's speedy left back is on his way to Manchester City according to the Manchester Evening News. Pep Guardiola really needed to upgrade City at the full back positions this summer and it seems he's done so to the tune of around £100 million, with Kyle Walker also expected to arrive from Tottenham Hotspur for £50 million.

While its main rivals re-tool, Liverpool continues to be frustrated. The Independent claims Liverpool has been told that Naby Keita, RB Leipzig's brilliant Guinean midfielder, is not for sale. Keita, 22, will have to force through a move himself if he wants to leave the Bundesliga this summer
