A new DayZ update has landed on Xbox One that adds new weapons, fixes server issues and more. Find out everything that's new and changed, here.

On Monday, Bohemia Interactive released a major update for DayZ on Xbox One that not only adds new weapons, it also seeks to fix a number of server performance issues. The devs have offered detailed notes explaining the research process and fixes they've deployed, which can be found here. In addition to these changes, there have been considerable improvements made to the backup system to help with the current persistence issues. Below we've put together an overview of everything new and changed as listed in the Experimental Update 1.0150408 patch notes.

Additions

  • New Weapons - This update reintroduces the SK 59/66 and CR-527
  • Added Hunting Scope
  • Added recovery backups to deal with data corrupted during crashes, and user-scheduled backups
  • Added a new stream from Kozlovka to Balota.
  • Bleeding wounds now self-close in overtime.
  • Expanded admin logs (player positions, deaths and received hits)
  • Added script versioning to prevent future data incompatibilities
  • Added TrackIR support
  • Added support for bullet shells dropping + new sounds
  • Added a new audio controller for positional sounds, that allowed us procedural control number or sound sources on models (Used to reduce number of bird sounds on trees.)
  • Added tree stem creak sounds
  • Implemented EQ filter for unconscious state
  • Added sound position offset feature to config
  • Added sounds for drop item action
  • Added new sounds for bullet shells dropping
  • Antibiotics can now fight diseases
  • Vitamins can boost player's immunity
  • Added a Long torch (made of a long stick and rags)

Fixes

  • Fixed a server crash when a character with a corrupt inventory tries to connect
  • Fixed a server crash when a server with a garden plot on it was restarted
  • Fixed a server crash related to script array manipulation crashes
  • Fixed a client crash related to script array manipulation
  • Fixed a client crash related to a light being removed while still in use
  • Fixed a Multitude of environmental issues (missing collisions, sudden LOD changes, hit materials, models adjustments) - as reported in Ticket T136380
  • Fixed typos in localization
  • Fixed glitch that made it possible to toggle headlights when both are missing or destructed
  • Fixed some actions on target have incomplete action messages
  • Fixed bug where Crafting improvised suppressor takes 1% from the duct tape
  • Fixed issue with Landmine not detonating when it becomes ruined while it is armed
  • Fixed various IK poses (Stone, Medium Tent, BK-18)
  • Fixed bug where chemlights glowed in cargo for 10 seconds
  • Fixed issue where Animals had no collisions with vehicles
  • Fixed issue where shooting through a ruined suppressor did not emit muzzle flash
  • Fixed issue where a fireplace does not upgrade to stone circle if smaller stacks of stone are used
  • Fixed issue with wolves attacking animals rather than humans
  • Fixed issues with sound sources on trees moving with entity during cut down tree action
  • Fixed bug where SG5-K with compensator using regular gun shots sounds (used sounds for silencer)
  • Fixed bug where one Sea chest could be put into another sea chest
  • Fixed issue where performing suicide doesn't cause headgear to get damaged
  • Fixed issue where Player's ankles disappeared while wearing Orel police pants
  • Fixed issue where Bullets were not registered after the weapon was raised close to the wall
  • Fixed issue with AIs get stuck near obstacles (reduced chance of occurrence)
  • Fixed issue with Motorbike helmet visually disappearing after few steps
  • Fixed issue with Player gear being teleported to exact place where he logged in after being skinned and quartered

  • Fixed issue with tactical goggles having no texture
  • Fixed AI walking through ground pipes

Tweaks

  • Tweaked: Inventory overhaul Improvements in the visuals and performance of inventory code, including:
  • the addition of hierarchical attachment visualisation, hiding unused attachment categories (greatly uncluttered the Watchtower for example),
  • the inclusion of dedicated icons for these categories and overall bugfixes.)
  • Tweaked: Improvements to server performance (central economy, networking and AI) - Read here for more details
  • Tweaked: Weapon muzzle attachments now steam during rain while they are hot
  • Tweaked: Weapons animations polishing (animations speed, clipping)
  • Tweaked: Updated sounds for climbing ladders
  • Tweaked: Updated sounds for take item in hand action
  • Tweaked: Projectile speed and air friction
  • Tweaked: Projectile damage (rebalanced)
  • Tweaked: Character damage system (rebalanced)
  • Tweaked: Armor against projectiles (rebalanced)
  • Tweaked: Shock damage for projectiles (chance to fall into unconsciousness increased)
  • Removed: Chances for bleeding wounds from projectiles hit
  • Removed: Flickering effect (road flare)
  • Tweaked: Antibiotics and vitamins only support single use consume action
  • Tweaked: Traps no longer function as melee weapons
  • Tweaked: Hen spawn zone reworked to better fit environment (should not spawn inside industrial and other unnatural areas)
  • Tweaked: Many improvements, tweaks and fixes for ChernarusPlus terrain
  • Tweaked: Bulldozer no longer requires dta and dayz.gproj copied to the work-drive/work-folder (Modding relevant)

Known Issues

  • There might be an issue with the use of storage files created before the update. You can use this Experimental phase to test your current storage file from the Stable branch (keep copies).
  • SK 59/66 and CR-527 have have similar animation issues as the Mosin, with the weapon becoming displaced briefly during a reload
  • Client FPS drops when dismantling or destroying a watchtower
  • A ruined improvised suppressor still silences shots
  • 2-handed rifles can only be dragged and dropped via a small piece of their "Equipment" tab icon
  • There is no icon displayed when dragging an item from hands slot
  • Full-auto gunfire in the distance might become distorted and sounds like a single shot
  • A jammed BK-18 cannot be fixed
  • Server browser issues - server time can be displayed incorrectly, missing throbbers on filtering, previously played, proper version filters not functioning, missing icons, servers cannot be filtered by the character
  • The spotlight does not work after a server restart
  • Infected will be a bit more bullet resistant during this Experimental.
