Dennis Intermediate School Shooting Live Updates: Teenage Suspect Dead, Indiana Police Report

UPDATE: 10:55 a.m. EST–Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb said that he directed the Indiana State Police to work with local responders at the shooting at Dennis Intermediate School. He added that his administration will continue to work with the school, the superintendent and do everything possible to assist the community and support those impacted by the shooting.

A shooting at an Indiana middle school prompted a Thursday morning lockdown and resulted in the death of a teenage suspect.

On Thursday morning, all Richmond Community Schools were placed on lockdown and no one was allowed to enter or leave the schools.

The incident ended around 9 a.m. EST and Indiana State Police later shared that a shooting at Dennis Intermediate School in Richmond, Indiana, resulted in the death of the teenage suspect. No other students were reported to be injured, according to the Indiana State Police.

Shortly after 9 a.m. EST, Richmond Community Schools announced that the school building was secure and that all students at Dennis Intermediate School were safe.
