Tributes Paid to 'Home and Away' Actor Dieter Brummer, Found Dead At 45
Tributes are being paid to Australian actor Dieter Brummer who has passed away at the age of 45.
Best known for his role as Shane Parrish in the soap opera Home and Away between 1992 and 1996, Brummer was found dead in his home in Sydney on Saturday.
New South Wales police confirmed Brummer's death after responding to a welfare call. It is not being treated as suspicious.
The actor's family released a moving statement confirming Brummer's passing.
"We lost our handsome, talented, funny, complicated and beloved Dieter," the statement reads, per the BBC.
"He has left a massive hole in our lives and our world will never be the same. Our thoughts go out to all of you who knew him, loved him, or worked with him over the years."

Brummer was well-known for starring in Home and Away where he played the love interest of Melissa George's Angel Brooks in the 1990s when he was a fan favorite on the show. He joined the cast when he was just 15-years-old.
The network that airs the long-running series in Australia also paid tribute to the actor following his passing.
"Home and Away and @channel7 are deeply saddened to hear of Dieter Brummer's passing," a statement posted to Instagram reads. "Dieter was a much-loved Home and Away cast member and celebrated by Australian and international audiences for his award-winning portrayal of Shane Parrish. We send our sincere condolences to Dieter's family and friends during this very difficult time."
Brummer also went on to star in rival soap opera Neighbours in 2012. In recent years, Brummer worked as a high-rise window cleaner.

News of Brummer's death is circulating on social media where many are paying tribute to the late actor.
"Just got the awful news about Dieter Brummer. Such a lovely guy with a dry sense of humour (check out his t-shirt below). He had the world at his feet but saw fame for what it was and stepped away from it when it became too much. Absolutely tragic," tweeted Australian journalist Steve Pennells.

His former Home and Away castmate Lynne McGranger said she is "utterly shocked and saddened to hear of Dieter's passing. I hope he's at peace now." (via The West Australian.)
