Diplo Accusations Explained As DJ Denies Sex Act Coercion

Diplo has denied accusations that he coerced a woman into performing a sex act on him.

The DJ/producer is facing a lawsuit after a woman alleges she was coerced into performing oral sex while she was drunk at a Las Vegas party in 2019, according to a report from TMZ.

However, a lawyer for the musician—whose given name is Thomas Wesley Pentz—has denied the claims and dismissed the allegations as a "shakedown" of his client.

Per the outlet, the woman claims she was plied with alcohol and cannabis before being invited to Diplo's private room, when everyone else present was allegedly ushered out.

In report obtained by TMZ, the woman claims that Diplo, 42, allegedly said he would not let her leave until she performed oral sex on him.

Court papers say that the woman gave in and the DJ filmed the act without her consent.

Newsweek has contacted Diplo's representatives for further comment.

Diplo's lawyer Bryan Freedman has said that the woman is connected to another person that Diplo was romantically involved with, who accused him of sexual battery, assault and defamation in an earlier lawsuit.

"This complaint is completely outrageous, wildly untrue and yet also entirely predictable, given that it simply repeats the exact same claim already made by the plaintiff's friend Shelly Auguste, an individual who has been harassing Mr. Pentz and his family for more than a year and already has repeatedly violated the restraining order issued against her," Freedman said in a statement to TMZ.

"We have irrefutable evidence that this is a completely meritless claim and we will be providing it to a court as quickly as we possibly can to put an end to this shakedown by Ms. Auguste and her accomplices once and for all."

The woman Freedman refers to is Shelly Auguste who sued the DJ in June, alleging that she was first contacted by the DJ when she was 17 and he "solicited nude photos of her." She claims they met in person for the first time in 2018 when she was 21.

Auguste claims that she was pressured into losing her virginity to Diplo in April 2019 and contracted STIs from their encounter. She also alleges that on another occasion, Diplo "forced himself on her as she tried to fight him off."

All allegations made by Auguste have been denied by Diplo's legal team.

Freeman told TMZ of Auguste's allegations: "As has already been made clear in the restraining order we obtained against this individual, she has repeatedly stalked, defamed, threatened and attempted to shake down (Diplo) and his family.

"These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law."
