A new Star Wars rumor is doing the rounds, which suggests Disney is planning to effectively erase a big chunk of the sci-fi franchises' canon.
The rumor started over on YouTube on the Doomcock Overlord DVD channel, who has speculated that Episodes VII, VIII and IX—The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker, will be essentially deleted.
There is no truth to these rumors, but the outlandish theories haven't stopped Star Wars fans from speculating wildly.
Doomcock says that plans are in place which involves the Abrams and Rian Johnson trilogy getting obliterated out of existence like Alderaan.
The video containing the theory is titled "Star Wars Leaks Reveal Exactly How the Sequel Trilogy Will Be ERASED" and has more than 455,000 views at the time of reporting.
The idea stems from the plot line of a Star Wars Rebels episode. Doomcock explains that, "In the Season 4 episode 13 instalment titled 'A World Between Worlds,' the concept of the Veil of The Force was introduced, a mystical dimension of The Force that connects all time and space.
"I have received confirmation from two additional sources claiming that this is spot on—that indeed LucasFilm realizes they have a massive problem on their hands, that the Star Wars franchise is all but dead, and despite Kathleen Kennedy's hatred of this idea, Lucasfilm is preparing to render the Sequel Trilogy null and void."
Doomcock previously theorized about a so-called "civil-way" going on at Lucasfilm between George Lucas, the original creator of Star Wars, and the production company's president Kathleen Kennedy.

Doomcock clarified that the events from The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and Skywalker "will be removed from canon, isolated in their own alternate timeline and regarded as an Elseworlds-like instalment under the label of Star Wars Legends."
This notion would effectively see these movies consigned to a separate universe within the Star Wars "multiverse."
"A massive reset is going to hit the Star Wars universe," he says.
Doomcock thinks this theory could be put into practice and the Disney Star Wars films undone by Emperor Palpatine.
"Emperor Palpatine had a room on the second Death Star called The Room of Mirrors. The mirrors were created by The Emperor prior to the Death Star through the Dark Side using ancient Sith rituals. These mirrors linked to the Veil of The Force served many purposes. Using them, Palpatine could manipulate The Force in many ways to further his aims," he said.
It might be little far fetched but Doomcock notes: "Han doesn't walk stupidly into a lightsaber, Leia doesn't fly like Mary Poppins through space, Luke has nothing to run away from and consumes no green milk, and I am informed there will be no amazing 'wonder Rey' as she was born after The Emperor's death."
Many people on social media are dismissing the hypothesis as nothing more than dumb rumors, however.
Why would they erase 2 of the best star wars movies of all time? If they were going to erase shit wouldnt they have done that with the 2 worst movies? The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones? Yikes

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If they wanted to do this, why not do it in episode IX? And for that matter why not do the same for the prequel trilogy? All this does is open a horrendous can of worms of everyone bickering.

Disdain for the Disney Star Wars trilogy is nothing new, in particular there was a large swelling of outrage among hardcore Star Wars fans over Johnson's The Last Jedi. There's even a Change.org petition calling to "Have Disney strike Star Wars Episode VIII from the official canon."
The since-closed petition gained 116,794 supporters and called upon fans of the franchise to sign so Disney would strike the films from the record.
"Episode VIII was a travesty," the petition reads. "It completely destroyed the legacy of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi. It destroyed the very reasons most of us, as fans, liked Star Wars. This can be fixed. Just as you wiped out 30 years of stories, we ask you to wipe out one more, The Last Jedi. Remove it from canon, push back Episode IX and re-make Episode VIII properly to redeem Luke Skywalker's legacy, integrity, and character."
