Disney World's New Year's Eve Fireworks Livestream: Start Time and How To Watch

Walt Disney World will be live streaming its New Year's Eve fireworks display, enabling people from across the globe to watch this mesmerizing spectacle from the comfort of their own homes.

The Fantasy in the Sky evening show will naturally be taking place on Friday, December 31 and guests who managed to reserve a spot ahead of time will be able to attend in person. The Walt Disney World property in Orlando is incredibly vast (with a comparable acreage to San Francisco), but the display will be localized to the Magic Kingdom.

However, just like many of the other areas in the resort, this park is currently operating at limited capacity in order to minimize the spread of Coronavirus. As such, you must make a reservation well in advance if you hope to pass through the gate on any given day.

To ensure that nobody is left out of the New Year festivities because of this, the Disney Parks company will be broadcasting its entire fireworks show live. If you want an alternative to Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve or the many other celebrations taking place across America tonight, then here is everything you need to know.

Disney World 'Fantasy in the Sky' Fireworks Show Start Time

According to the official Disney blog post, the Fantasy in the Sky livestream will start at the oddly specific time of 11.48 p.m. ET.

For those in other time zones, this translates to 8:48 p.m. PST and 4:48 a.m. GMT. In the case of the latter, this means that you will actually be watching the event on January 1.

The blog post does not go into granular detail about what the show will entail but we can confirm that, as per tradition, it will take place around the Cinderella Castle landmark, which is situated just at the end of Main Street U.S.A.

It's also been teased that the fireworks will be choreographed to famous tracks from Disney movies, as well as to recognizable songs from the surrounding theme park attractions.

How To Watch the Disney World 'Fantasy in the Sky' Livestream

Unlike with the recent Magical Christmas Day parade, you won't need to tune into ABC to watch the upcoming New Year's Eve broadcast.

Instead, it will be livestreamed by the Disney Parks' official channels. Historically, they have always hosted the broadcast on their YouTube channel, but there will likely also be a link embedded on their website as well.

In terms of how long it will last, 2020's iteration of the show was roughly 20 minutes so you can expect it to be finished sometime around 12:10 a.m. ET.
