Dog Adopts Lamb After It Was Rejected by Its Mother in Adorable Video

A woman has shared the incredible bond between her dog and a lamb that was rejected by its mother.

A pet owner, believed to be in the U.K,m shared a video revealing her golden retriever, Lily, had adopted a sheep called Benny.

Lily, who has two sons of her own, Boris and Darcy, took the lamb in after his mom couldn't look after him, as she only wanted his two bigger siblings.

His owner, a blogger posting under the account name darcy_boris_lily, revealed Benny's mom gave birth to triplets, but she was only able to look after two.

In a TikTok clip shared on Tuesday, she said: "Family isn't always what you are born into. Lily will always love Benny as her own. Benny will always love his mum Lily. He will never experience loneliness and rejection again.

"Lily still loves cleaning Benny, wrestling with him and she always watches over him. If someone's too rough near him or mama sheep comes over to push him away, Lily will get in the way."

She shared touching footage of Lily with all three of her children playing together, as the owner joked Benny thinks he's a dog now.

Writing on Instagram, she explained more about how Lily came to adopt the black-and-white sheep.

Last month, the owner said: "Benny is coming on wonderfully, he latched properly yesterday for the first time & his energy has just shot up. He runs pretty fast for being a few days old

"I am convinced he thinks he's a dog now, although I do bring in his triplet siblings inside (one at a time) so they can play because he loves them. He also loves his mama but nature says she can only raise two. We have NO hard feelings towards mama. She's actually pretty smart; but my heart did hurt for Benny when he was sad.

"When he's a little older, he's going to join us on dog walks with his doggo flock. Our neighbors are going to think we're completely [nut]s but I really don't care. Benny literally follows the dogs and Aaron and I everywhere He loves company."

The owner, who lives on a farm, has been sharing numerous videos of Benny's progress, with the latest clip of the moving montage amassing thousands of views.

In another update, she said: "Benny (Bennedict CurlyPatch for long) has landed on his feet with Lily protecting him. She's protected me for the last 9 years from the unthinkable, all she knows is how to love and protect.

"Thank you Lily for showing Benny he is NOT alone and that he IS loved. He really needed a new mummy. He is now thriving with you by his side."

People have been moved to tears by their touching bond, as Chickieschicks said: "What a good momma. Beautiful, all of them."

Gemma J Stafford wrote: "This makes me want to cry. And what I mean is cry a lot."

While Dank Sinatra commented: "Ok who the hell is cutting onions."

And Charmonet Nel added: "Ok my eyes are leaking."
