A woman's dog was playing outside when he suddenly informed his owner of his unusual discovery in the fenced-in backyard: a puppy.
In the December 13 TikTok video by user @thetropicalsociety, the woman sat outside while her dog, Max, played in the yard. Max sniffed around, as usual, but when something caught the corner of his eye, he stopped and stared. Hiding behind the outdoor furniture was a puppy.
The unexpected puppy slowly emerged from hiding, and the owner stood in confusion. Where did this pup come from? How did she get inside their locked and fenced-in yard? Those questions could be answered later. Max's tail wagged as they got a closer look at their guest.

She called for the puppy, who immediately went to her and rolled over. The pup wouldn't leave her side, happily accepting the attention she was giving. And if the dog wasn't close enough, she kept crawling under the woman's legs.

...
Thankfully, the puppy's arrival was well received by the woman and Max, despite the unfortunate reality that someone had dumped her in their fenced-in yard and left.
In a follow-up video, the woman said she took the pup for a checkup and learned she was about eight months old. They also checked for a microchip, but there was none. That's when the woman vowed to keep the dog—who she has since named Daisy—until she found a home where she is safe and happy. But before long, the woman adopted Daisy.
The pup immediately started feeling at home. A video posted on December 21 shows Daisy snuggling with her owner on the bed, enjoying her walks outside and playing with her new doggy sibling.
TikTok Viewer Reactions
With nearly 2 million views and 200,000 likes on TikTok, viewers immediately became invested in the video about how this puppy came to the woman's home. They flooded the comments section with the hope she would keep the dog while also praising Max for how well he reacted.
"Max said to the puppy, 'My human is a good one. You're safe,'" one viewer wrote.
"Max is the best boy. So welcoming to a random puppy in HIS yard. Probably knew the little guy needed love," another commenter said.
"It looks like she chose you as her new mommy she loves you already with the actions she has shown," a third commenter wrote.
