An owner checking her pet camera was treated to an adorable and slightly chaotic moment between her tabby kitten and pit bull that has since captured the internet’s heart.
The video, posted to TikTok by user @setsby.juju, has racked up over 4 million views, showcasing the unlikely duo’s growing bond.
The clip begins with the pair based in Atlanta lying calmly on a bed, both facing the camera. The kitten then inches closer until its tiny body touches the dog. But instead of staying still, the pit bull leaps back in excitement, tail wagging furiously.

In a twist that delighted viewers, the kitten quickly turns the wagging tail into a makeshift toy, batting at it playfully.
While the interaction seems harmless, the owner added an important clarification in the comments, she said: "They’re supervised 99 [percent] of the time. This is a small clip while I ran an errand and doesn’t show the hours of training or management I’ve been doing.”
Tips for Introducing Dogs and Cats

...
Indeed, experts stress that dogs and cats cannot simply be left alone without proper introductions and training. The Animal Humane Society advises patience and structure when bringing these species together.
The following tips have been provided by the animal welfare organizations based in Minnesota:
- Start slow: Keep initial interactions short and positive.
- Use barriers: Baby gates or crates allow pets to see and smell each other safely.
- Reward calm behavior: Treats and praise help reinforce good interactions.
- Never force contact: Let pets set the pace to avoid stress or aggression.
- Supervise closely: Even after progress, monitor interactions until trust is established.
TikTok Reacts
The viral moment sparked some concern and a wave of humorous comments.
"[You] should never leave them alone that dog could seriously hurt the cat in a split second," warned one user.
“This is actually so dangerous because being left alone can cause them to team up against you and pull pranks when you get home,” joked another.
A third commenter wrote: “This is really dangerous, if you keep leaving them together unsupervised—they might become the best of friends and an iconic duo.”
A fourth added: “Next thing you know the cat is ripping the kibble bag for both of them.”
Despite their reputation as natural rivals, dogs and cats often form surprising alliances. Newsweek has covered numerous stories where cats are raised by dogs, share meals, or simply lounge together watching TV.
While the internet loves a good friendship story, experts remind pet owners that successful dog-cat relationships require time, training, and supervision. For this pit bull and kitten, it seems the groundwork is paying off—one wagging tail at a time.
