Dog's Reaction to Being Told Off on Pet Cam Has Internet in Hysterics

Most dog owners agree that pet cameras are a marvelous invention. Not only useful for keeping your furry friend safe when home alone, pet cams can help you to solve mysteries (such as why is my dog's head wet?) or catch bad behavior in the act.

One greyhound got the shock of his life when his owner gave him a telling off via pet cam. Spotted on camera destroying his bed, the dog's hilarious reaction had TikTok users in stitches.

In a clip shared by user @arlo_the_iggy on June 2, Arlo can be seen ripping his bed to shreds on camera.

"Oi!" his owner can be heard shouting through the mic, to which the pup can be seen jumping up in shock before staring directly at the camera, mouth still full of stuffing. His startled expression and upturned ears only make the scene more hilarious.

"Digging his bed then dad shouted at him on the camera! His reaction is priceless!" @arlo_the_iggy wrote alongside the post, which has received almost 500,000 likes and nearly 3,000 comments since being shared.

According to research by consulting firm Emergen, the pet camera market is predicted to reach $525.8 million by 2028, with an estimated growth rate of 23.4 percent a year. One in five U.S. households adopted a pet during the pandemic, which has also led to a surge in the number of pet cams purchased.

With many remote workers returning to the office, pet cams provide a low-cost solution to owners concerned about leaving their animals behind. Cameras with one-way video functionality were the most popular purchase. Usually linked to a pet owner's phone, these cameras can make live audio or video calls. However, pricier options with additional add-ons—such as treat dispensers—are also in demand.

TikTokers couldn't get enough of Arlo's reaction to being caught unawares, with user Joanne Ingham dubbing the clip "too funny."

"[The] way he stared right at the camera," said Buckyeyez11.

"The ear though!" wrote Rebecca.

"Hims was shook," commented 2Cool4School123abc.

Others believed that Arlo was set up.

"I'm his attorney and HE IS INNCOCENT!" said Lindsey Cagley.

SandieAndBigPaws agreed, writing: "Clearly the pup is innocent. This video evidence is circumstantial! He was looking for the perpetrator (in the the stuffing!)."

Arlo isn't the only animal to be bested by a pet cam. Biscuit the Toy Poodle was recently caught on camera munching her owner's sneakers, while a cat captured trying to hack a treat dispenser had the internet in stitches.
