Donald Trump 'The Magic Man' Quotes Ben Stein and Praises Himself on Twitter Following 2018 Midterm Elections

President Donald Trump lauded himself as "The Magic Man" following the Republican win of the Senate in the 2018 midterm elections. Taking to Twitter early morning on Wednesday, the president quoted actor and political commentator Ben Stein, who gushed over the "magic" of Trump during his Fox Business News appearance.

Stein praised Trump for his ability to maintain a Republican Senate in the off-year election, a feat Stein said has only been achieved by a sitting president five times in the last 105 years. "Mr. Trump has magic about him. This guy has magic coming out of his ears," Stein said.

"He is an astonishing vote-getting, an astonishing campaigner. Republicans are unbelievably lucky to have him, and I'm just awed at how well they've done," he continued.

Trump, in agreement with Stein, shared the flattering commentary with his 55.5 million followers on Twitter in two separate tweets posted 10 minutes apart.

“There’s only been 5 times in the last 105 years that an incumbent President has won seats in the Senate in the off year election. Mr. Trump has magic about him. This guy has magic coming out of his ears. He is an astonishing vote getter & campaigner. The Republicans are.........

....unbelievably lucky to have him and I’m just awed at how well they’ve done. It’s all the Trump magic - Trump is the magic man. Incredible, he’s got the entire media against him, attacking him every day, and he pulls out these enormous wins.” Ben Stein, “The Capitalist Code”

Fox Business anchor David Asman shared Stein's sentiments about the "magic" of Trump, which the reality star-turned-president also quoted on Twitter. Asman claimed Republicans owed much of their midterm success to Trump, and the president apparently couldn't agree more.

"Think of how his position with the Republicans improves—all the candidates who won tonight. They realize how important he is because of what he did campaigning for them. They owe him their political career," Trump quoted, adding his own campy follow-up, "Thanks, I agree!"

During 2018 midterm campaigns, Trump visited eight states in an effort to help Republicans secure seats in the Senate as well as the House. Although Democrats gained control of the House, Republicans overwhelmingly managed to hold their position in the Senate.

Despite losing the House, Trump highly regarded the midterm turnout as a tremendous win. "Those that worked with me in this incredible Midterm Election, embracing certain policies and principles, did very well. Those that did not, say goodbye! Yesterday was such a very Big Win, and all under the pressure of a Nasty and Hostile Media!" Trump wrote.
