President Donald Trump will discuss the government shutdown and his plans for 2019 in an exclusive interview with Fox News on Monday night during the network's New Year's Eve special.
The cable news network announced Trump's upcoming appearance on Monday morning, writing in a statement that the president will "discuss the government shutdown, his New Year's resolutions and what he hopes to accomplish in 2019."
The interview will be conducted by Fox & Friends Weekend host Pete Hegseth and will air as part of the network's "All-American New Year" special. The program will be co-hosted by Lisa "Kennedy" Montgomery and Hegseth live from Times Square in New York City.

The exact time of Trump's interview has not been announced, but Hegseth and Montgomery will start hosting the event at 10 p.m. ET.
The interview can be watched live on Fox News Channel. It can also be live streamed through the network's website by signing in through your TV provider.
According to the network, Trump is slated to discuss the ongoing partial government shutdown. The shutdown began on December 21 after the president refused to sign a spending bill that lacked the $5 billion he'd requested to build his long-promised border wall.

During a meeting with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer just before the shutdown, Trump said he would be "proud" to close the government over border security. He also said during the televised exchange that he would not blame Democrats for the shutdown.
But as of late, Trump has tweeted to air out his frustrations with Democrats and the shutdown. On Monday morning, Trump attacked Democratic lawmakers for their opposition to the wall.
"It's incredible how Democrats can all use their ridiculous sound bite and say that a Wall doesn't work. It does, and properly built, almost 100%! They say it's old technology - but so is the wheel. They now say it is immoral- but it is far more immoral for people to be dying!" he wrote.
Two migrant children died in U.S. custody in December after crossing the southern border. Eight-year-old Felipe Gomez-Alonzo died on Christmas Eve from what medical examiners said may have been influenza. Earlier this month, 7-year-old Jakelin Caal died of dehydration after being in border patrol custody for two days.
In his first statement about the children's deaths, Trump blamed Democrats for the tragedy, writing that it was a result of the party's "pathetic immigration policies."
"Any deaths of children or others at the Border are strictly the fault of the Democrats and their pathetic immigration policies that allow people to make the long trek thinking they can enter our country illegally. They can't. If we had a Wall, they wouldn't even try!" Trump tweeted.
