Donald Trump Jr. called on American citizens to arm themselves to stop "motorized paragliders" coming into their homes.
Speaking on his Triggered podcast Monday, the eldest son of former President Donald Trump suggested that people can no longer rely on the government or the police to protect themselves and urged them to purchase a gun and train themselves to use it.
Trump Jr. then appeared to make reference to how the Islamist militant group Hamas used paragliders as part of their large-scale attacks against Israel on October 7, with Israel declaring war and subsequently launching its heaviest-ever airstrikes on Gaza. As of Tuesday, more than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel, the Associated Press reported, citing the Israeli military. At least 2,778 people had been killed in Gaza, according to authorities there, the AP said.

During the video, Trump Jr. urged people to learn how to defend themselves while suggesting that Americans need the right to purchase an AR-15-style firearm in case "people in motorized paragliders come into your home."
"You can never depend on the government to save you in a time of need. when seconds count. Cops are just minutes away. You need to be armed. You can only trust yourself and keep your family safe," Trump Jr. said.
"So I urge everyone—and I know a lot of people have been out there buying guns this week, even a couple of leftists who couldn't imagine it—I urge everyone, take the time. Don't just buy the gun, get the training.
"Take your family, let them learn not only is it safe, but you'll all have a lot of fun. I can guarantee 99.999 percent of you are going to have an awesome time having a new hobby while also being able to defend yourself.
"The Democrats out there who's constantly trying to ban you know, 30-round mags for your AR-15 and the AR-15 themselves. That's why you need those things. That's why you need an AR 15. That's why you need a 30-round mag because if people in motorized paragliders come into your home, that's what it's for."
Trump Jr. reiterated his point that if the government is "not going to protect you, we have to be able to protect ourselves."

Several MAGA and far-right figures previously called for Americans to arm themselves over a planned "Day of Jihad."
The supposed "Day of Jihad" stems from a statement from Khaled Mashaal, the former leader of the Hamas' political wing, calling for Muslim protests across the world on October 13 in order to show support for the Palestinian people in the wake of the conflict with Israel.

The apparent call for global Jihad appears to have stemmed from a line in a recorded video message from Mashaal, who said "Scholars who teach jihad...to all who teach and learn, this is a moment for the application [of theories]."
On Saturday, a 6-year-old Muslim boy was stabbed to death in an alleged hate crime in Plainfield, Illinois. Joseph Czuba, 71, was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Wadea Al-Fayoume, the attempted murder of the boy's 32-year-old mother, and two counts of hate crime.
The Will County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that they were able to determine that both victims were targeted by the suspect, their landlord, "due to them being Muslim and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis."
