Donald Trump Takes Narrow Lead Over Joe Biden in Key Swing States of Florida and Arizona, Poll Finds

President Donald Trump recently took a narrow lead over Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in two key swing states, according to a new poll.

The poll, which was conducted by the Washington Post/ABC News, found Trump leading Biden by less than 5 points in both Arizona and Florida.

According to the poll, 51 percent of likely voters in Florida said they'd vote for Trump, while 47 percent chose the former vice president.

In Arizona, the poll found Trump with an even smaller lead, as 49 percent chose the Republican, compared with 48 percent who sided with Biden.

Washington Post/ABC News surveyed 613 likely voters in Florida and 579 in Arizona from September 15 to September 20. Each state's survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Trump's largest lead in each of the two key swing states comes from white non-college educated likely voters. According to the poll, in Florida, 64 percent of white non-college educated voters said they'd vote for Trump, compared to only 34 percent that said Biden.

In Arizona, the poll found similar results with 62 percent of white non-college educated likely voters choosing Trump as their preferred candidate, while 34 percent said they'd vote for Biden.

During the 2016 elections, Trump saw victories in both Arizona in Florida, beating Hillary Clinton by 1.2 points in Florida and 3.6 points in Arizona, according to Ballotpedia.org.

Despite Trump's lead over Biden among likely voters in Arizona and Florida, the poll found more voters in each state saying that the former vice president is more honest and trustworthy, as well as better understanding the problems of the people.

According to the poll, in Florida, 46 percent said they think Biden is more honest and trustworthy, compared to 41 percent that said the same for Trump. Forty-eight percent of respondents in Florida said they think Biden better understands the problems of the people, while 44 percent said Trump does.

In Arizona, 46 percent of respondents said they think Biden is more honest and trustworthy ad 49 percent said they think he better understands the problems of the people. On the other hand, 43 percent said they think Trump is more honest, and 41 percent said they think he better understands the problems of Arizonians.

While Biden currently trails Trump in these two key swing states, several nationally conducted polls show the former vice president ahead among all Americans.

A poll recently conducted by NBC News/Wall Street Journal found Biden leading by eight points, as 51 percent of Americans said they'd vote for him if the election were today, compared with 43 percent that said Trump.

NBC News/Wall Street Journal surveyed 1,000 registered voters from September 13 to September 16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
