Donald Trump Watches TV 'Like an Old Man That Is in a Retirement Home,' Joe Scarborough Says After More Schedules Leak

After another White House leak Sunday showed 50 percent of four days of President Donald Trump's private schedule last week consisted of unstructured "executive time," MSNBC's Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough compared Trump to a retiree who spends all day watching television—but worse.

The four new schedules leaked to Axios came after the White House launched an internal search for the leaker who last week provided the media outlet with the past three months of Trump's schedules showing about 60 percent was non-structured time.

Scarborough on Monday called Trump's schedule "an absolute, absolute joke."

"We've seen one account after another, one person working for Trump after another, saying he often just hunkers down upstairs in the personal quarters," Scarborough said. "He spends the majority of his time watching cable news and tweeting, yelling, staring at TV sets like an old man that is in a retirement home instead of a president of the United States who is supposed to be working 24 hours a day."

Co-host Mika Brzezinski chimed in, "Play time!"

Scarborough then suggested Trump was lazier than retirees.

"I'm sure most older men in retirement homes live far more active lives than does Donald Trump," Scarborough said. "But for these people that come out and suggest, and for Donald Trump to suggest he's worked harder than most any president before him is just an absolute joke."

Trump on Sunday blasted the latest leak on Twitter.

"The media was able to get my work schedule, something very easy to do, but it should have been reported as a positive, not negative," the president tweeted. "When the term Executive Time is used, I am generally working, not relaxing. In fact, I probably work more hours than almost any past President....."

Trump continued in another tweet: "The fact is, when I took over as President, our Country was a mess. Depleted Military, Endless Wars, a potential War with North Korea, V.A., High Taxes & too many Regulations, Border, Immigration & HealthCare problems, & much more. I had no choice but to work very long hours!"

The president seemed to respond to Scarborough's remarks on Monday just minutes afterward.

"No president ever worked harder than me (cleaning up the mess I inherited)!" Trump tweeted.

No president ever worked harder than me (cleaning up the mess I inherited)!

Scarborough brought up Trump's campaign pledge to work around the clock if he became president, and his criticisms of former President Barack Obama for golfing. In reality, Scarborough said, Trump has spent much of his time in the position golfing and tweeting.

"Historians will record, when this presidency is over, that Donald Trump was the laziest president ever to occupy the Oval Office," Scarborough concluded, "And did less work than any other president to ever to occupy the Oval Office, full stop."
