A new update for Dragon Ball FighterZ is now live and fixes Ring Matches and some online matchmaking. It also brings a new feature to Bandai Namco's popular fighting game, Z Unions.
Z Unions in Dragon Ball FighterZ let players gather together to support a specific character and earn rewards while doing it. Those familiar with Mortal Kombat X and its Guild system will recognize this feature and how it works. Here's the Z Unions explanation given within Dragon Ball FighterZ :
"Here you'll find Z Unions, special fan clubs for Dragon Ball characters. Show your appreciation for your all-time favorite character by joining their union. Stay in that union long enough and you'll be rewarded for your devotion."

HOW TO A JOIN Z UNION
Once you've joined a lobby, head over to the Z Union booth, located between the Local Battle and Arcade areas (players can also simply press L2 and select "Z Union" to teleport to the booth).
Speak to the man in front of the booth and he'll explain the basics of Z Unions. Select the Z Union you want to join and pick your favorite character. Unlike the lobby avatars, the only ones you can pick are the playable characters on the roster, minus SSGSS Goku and Vegeta.
You can switch your Z Union without penalty, but you'll have to wait at least one day after you've joined a union to do so. Simply return to the man at the booth and you can select the Z Union you want to join.
WHAT DO Z UNIONS DO?
Now that you've joined a Z Union, you can start gaining rewards for your fandom. You'll gain rewards the more your character wins. More wins and longer loyalty equal better rewards. Stay in the same union long enough, though, and you'll start to get duplicates. Here's Bandai Namco's tweet explaining the rewards in Z Unions.
From the pictures posted by Bandai Namco, Zeni and Battle Titles are examples of rewards earned by joining a Z Union.
